We went for a family lunch on Christmas day, there were 8 of us. The meal was excellent and the service was very good. The staff had obviously been well trained and were very professional. A very enjoyable occasion. We will go again.

We have been to the Drove many times. This time we went with some of the family ( our group was 6 people) for the carvery. Sarah was excellent in sorting our table and getting our deserts. The Manager was friendly and efficient in dealing with our order and getting the drinks. The chef produces excellent roasts (Turkey, Gammon and Beef) and there is a very good selection of vegetables, and sauces.

You get seated at a table to decide what you want. One person must go to the bar to place the order and pay. There is no board indicating out of stocks so if you choose something out of stock you have to leave the queue and go back to the table to get a new item.The food was okay but not fantastic

Christmas Dinner with family at the Drove, Brewers Fayre. It was a buffet dinner big mistake, took too much food. It was Christmas after all. The meat was well cooked and tasty, the potatoes were small so were drying, sprouts were simply tough and needed five minutes more cooking. Overall a pleasant environment staff worked hard and were attentive. Would I do it again possibly not somewhere I would normally go but it worked apart from a couple of food items I am sure could be improved.

Took some time for the server to put our order through, had no idea what she was doing,had us waiting for 10 mins just to order the food. We finally sat down and a dessert arrived before any food. Food quality was very poor, I ordered my sons food from the Christmas menu which you'd expect to be at least edible but he was presented with a burnt pizza. How it was allowed to leave the kitchen is beyond me. I ordered the 2 course from the set menu to which is was just a carvery and the food was cold and over cooked. Very disappointing for xmas eve!

Staff are nice food is good just a shame that a customer who had already eaten decided to push infront of new customers who hadn't got any food yet to get her seconds although I would of actually said 12ths by the size of her. Said there wasn't fried eggs when she came up for her meal but decided to grab another complete breakfast again lol ?.

Group of 5 -booked weeks in advance for evening Christmas getogether...unfortunately when we arrived for7.15 there was no Christmas Turkey or Christmas burger plus other choices available! Very disappointing. We had to wait a long time for each course and they arrived at different times amongst our party. To be fair the meals we did have weren't too bad but our evening was dampened somewhat. Will probably not visit again

Appalling food - steak over cooked for medium and was luke warm along with rest of meal. The vegetarian meal was also only warm not hot, though spices were very hot that plenty of water was needed. It was only eaten as we were extremely hungry. No one checked meal ok and waited 30 mins for dessert, which only got because we went to the bar to chase up the food, and was brought to us when we still had out dirty meal plates on the table. So much for being Chrissmasy there was no music in the food area unlike the bar the bar area. As a Blue Light Card holder I was not advised I could only use it once, so got the discount for main meal but not on the dessert. So food, service and atmosphere total dismal and definitely won't be going back. Place needs updating and service needs improving.

Food is just under standard, you get what you pay for, raw chicken etc not surprising seeing as the poor staff seem massively under pressure. What amazed me is the management and how they treat their staff! Shocking ! No wonder they are short staffed, no respect for those slaving away in the kitchen when they really let rip on the staff!! Never have I witnessed what I have in this pub, all I’m saying is the managment must get some sort of sick buzz out of treating the staff like absolute crap, the control must be thrilling for them. Well done they know how to keep it classy . Poor kids hopefully they find something else soon. Also whilst standing outside the entrance I stood and watched the rats for 15 mins….

Very poor customer service , walked in off the street for a table of 6 to say the pub was very busy and booked up the pub was empty , customer service was shocking , no SORRY we are fully booked . Just got grunted , and just walked out , Loads of tables empty in the whole restaurant, Bad customer service DO NOT VISIT

We went here after a funeral as it had a play area and we were staying at the hotel. First issue was being told there wasn’t any Sherry except there was…anyway I got my Sherry There were 10 of us plus 3 little ones, booked 5 weeks previously. Some ordered 2 courses, some 1, some 3. The six of us who ordered 1 course got ours ok. The babies got their starters as did the 3 courses. After a long wait and complaining they did the babies meals but by then they were in nap time and to be fair I did get a refund. Four adults had to wait for ages and eventually after again complaining the rest of the meal arrived. I received an apology and the offer of a free drinks etc but no one was interested. We had several meals here including breakfast and whilst recommending the food the service is awful. Apparently they are addressing it with training so hopefully the next review will reflect that

This is a personal recommendation for Jade, one of the staff on duty the night we returned on the ferry from Dieppe. Her positive and extremely helpful attitude towards two travellers in their late 70's was quite outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble, she spent time explaining the menu and was cheerful and smiley throughout. She should hold managerial status if the front of house image of The Drove is to be enhanced. 10/10 for professionalism.

Gee the deputy manager was very helpful as the food was not at its best we have been here on many occasions and has always been good

Breakfast is supposed to be open at 6:30am which would help me staying in the hotel before I go to work but most mornings it is not open or it opens late and there is no food on the buffet for breakfast and because of this most morning I can't wait for breakfast so I am paying for something I cannot use. I stop in Premier inns all over the country and compared to the rest this one is a joke
