What a cute little pub tucked away. Looks so pretty from the outside and is sooo cosy on the inside!! Nice little old cottage. 1 side of the bar is like oldy worldy and then when you go sit in the back area has a Modern feel.We didn't book a table in advance and we walked in and there was a table available. We arrived on a Sunday, in Newhaven, 4hrs before our ferry was due to leave for Dieppe. All the restaurants we looked at, had finished serving food and then we happened upon The Flying Fish and what a find it was! From stepping in the door, we were made to feel so welcome, (which is very unusual in a rural pub!) from Will, the Bar Manager and regulars, Nicki, Steve & Phil. We enjoyed lunch at The Flying Fish. The food was excellent, especially the Ploughman's. My husband was disappointed that the guest ale was off and there were no other Shepherd Neame ales on draught, only bottles. Other than that, it was a good visit.
