I'm a big fan of Jempsons: the staff are friendly and welcoming and the shop always has interesting things, but they don't know how to make cakes! Me and Mum bought bakewell tarts to enjoy with a cuppa after her visit to hospital and they were as dry as the Gobi Desert! The icing fell off the top in a solid block and the 'sponge' inside was very difficult to swallow as it was so dusty.

Great range and nicely laid out and not what you would expect in a small Sussex village (in a good way), but expect to pay through the nose , so expensive compared to the big supermarkets, OK to top up on a few treats , wouldn't want to do my big shop here tho on a regular basis, but I guess you have to pay for convenience.
