Everything was ok but the service was slow. Everything was fine until my mother ordered her pudding(Treacle Sponge) and asked if we could take it away, to which the waitress said fine. The sponge came out in a takeaway box but on its own with no cream or custard (which it comes with). When my mother asked if she could have custard with it the waitress was very rude and replied "You didn't say you wanted that, I just presumed you wanted sponge on its own". Now if we had been eating in the restaurant the waitress surely would've asked if she wanted cream or custard?! Not just given a plain sponge! My mum replied and said "Yes please I'd like some custard" to which the waitress rolled her eyes and hugged and puffed and got a younger girl to go and get it. Her attitude was very poor and unapologetic forgot offering cream or custard in the first place. We always come to your restaurant and spend s lot of money and normally walk away satisfied with our service & food. However, yesterday's visit and that waitresses attitude was appalling and she seriously needs to think about her customer service as if this was our first visit we would definitely not return.

Pretty good place, more often better than not so great, some great dishes, and with the odd deal the prices are reasonable and a good meal is generally had by all.The only dissapointment I have had in recent visits, and I have ordered it a few times now just to check it was not just a one off, bad day type of thing. The gravy, it is basically brown water, it is so thin, that if you actually try to pour it onto anything it just runs off and you basically have a slick of brown water at the bottom of your plate, under all your other food, there is no way this can really be descirbed as gravy, it has exactly the same consistency as water, and it is almost tasteless, staff advised, this is how it is supposed to be.Obviously somone at Mitchell & Butlers needs to go back to gravy school.Everything else I have had here in recent months ranges from good to fab, and have no regrets about visiting.Parking: Enough space usually, but at some of the busier times the parking spaces are all full, as the car park is fairly small.

We went for a meal here yesterday with our 4 kids and the food was excellent, the service was amazing and the staff were lovely. Our waitress Alisha was the BEST waitress that we've had in a long time. The service is a huge part of going for a meal and Alisha was absolutely lovely and went above and beyond. We all left with a huge smile on our faces after the lovely meal. Thanks guys and thanks Alisha!!!

I came to Polegate Harvester last Wednesday 6th March for my granddaughters birthday tea. It was excellent. A special mention to our waitress Alisha. She was superb and really engaged with us, especially my granddaughter. Thank you Alisha for enhancing our experience ?

Have been here many times. The food is always enjoyable, sometimes excellent, sometimes not a let down but not 'wow'. It's always hot and brought out together when in a group. The salad bar and dressings are great, especially being able to choose what you want and as much as you want. Full price menu a little pricey but mid-week lunchtime menu good value.
