The Mill Restaurant & Coffee Shop
The Centre, Roy Martin Way, PolegateVisited this cafe for the first time, it was lovely & clean with friendly staff. Meal was cooked to order, (home cooked pie) food served hot & large portions. Good value for money & lovely to have options other than chips with everything.

40 High St, PolegateI had a great burger, very quick service and reasonable pricing. As with Polegate its difficult to park on the high street at times, but parking just around the corner which is free. Great option to go for if you want some fast food.

The Coffee Stop
Polegate Train, Station, PolegateWe called in for a burger and chips. It was massive. And the fries were plentiful. All for just £5. We chatted to the woman behind the counter who was Japanese and very friendly. We definitely want to go back to try their roast.

1 High St, PolegatePretty good place, more often better than not so great, some great dishes, and with the odd deal the prices are reasonable and a good meal is generally had by all.The only dissapointment I have had in recent visits, and I have ordered it a few times now just to check it was not just a one off, bad day type of thing.The gravy, it is basically brown water, it is so thin, that if you actually try to pour it onto anything it just runs off and you basically have a slick of brown water at the bottom of your plate, under all your other food, there is no way this can really be descirbed as gravy, it has exactly the same consistency as water, and it is almost tasteless, staff advised, this is how it is supposed to be.Obviously somone at Mitchell & Butlers needs to go back to gravy school.Everything else I have had here in recent months ranges from good to fab, and have no regrets about visiting.Parking: Enough space usually, but at some of the busier times the parking spaces are all full, as the car park is fairly small.

31 High St, PolegateThis is the best chippie around. Food is well cooked, staff are warm, friendly, helpful and inviting. Eat in option is available. Credit and debit cards accepted, including contactless payments. Great selection of food available. 10 out of 10!

36 High St, PolegateHad our second takeaway last night and just had to write a review.. absolutely delicious ? definitely the best Indian food we have had in a long time. The chicken tikka Ceylon was lovely. The chicken actually tasted like Very good quality meat (don't always get that from others). The quality and quantity was very good and the flavour was unique. Very hot food great delivery and very polite. Will be using Tiffin2Go from no on that's for sure and would highly recommend. Thank you for restoring our faith in takeaway food.

Ye Olde Smugglers Inne
Waterloo Square, Alfriston, PolegateMet friends who were staying here and had dinner with them. A beautiful old building with great tables for dining. We had a window seat with very comfy cushions. Grabbed drinks at the bar first. Lydia was friendly and chatted along with us. She also served our table. A great waitress. Food is good pub classics dinner really well. Really pleased to see proper home made puds too - such a rarity these days. Good portions, well presented and very tasty too. It was a quiet evening but we were made to feel really at home. Thoroughly recommend. Dog friendly too.

Rathfinny Wine Estate - Tasting Room
Alfriston, PolegateHad the set menu. The main course (salmon fishcake) was off the planet. One of my favourite dishes in the last decade. Crisp exterior, soft and delicious inside. The addition of salmon underneath and the sauce was perfection. Even the spinach tasted sublime.Really a top notch dish.Service was perfect. Not overbearing - but attentive.Really a great experience. 46 High St, PolegateWe've got our fish and chips from here many times - great fish and chips, always cooked to order, although the chips could be more cooked for my liking, they always seems a little undercooked! But this doesn't put us off. The fish is great and the place is always so clean! We walk past when it is closed and they are always there cleaning it - great to see.

The Street, Arlington, PolegateLove this pub. Food and service excellent. Cosy village pub. Highly recommend.Vegetarian options: My friend had the vegetable curry which she said was delicious.Parking: Easy parking with a short walk to the entrance of the pub.
