*Food Review Only*I want to stress, that the waiting staff here were excellent. The two servers we had were brilliant and I cannot fault their service, however the 1* review is because of the food.Myself and my partner came here today for lunch. I ordered an omelette with a side salad and ,my partner ordered rarebit. My omelette arrived and it was fairly runny in the center and my partner remarked whilst eating her lunch that the rarebit tasted "strange". We didn't raise any questions nor mention it to the servers at the time, as:1) We'd never eaten rarebit before and wasn't sure how it was supposed to taste.2) The rest of the omelette was fine and I brushed off the runny part of my food.About an hour after leaving the restaurant, my partner began to feel unwell and I have just been sick, around four hours after leaving the restaurant. It is now apparent that it was the food that made us unwell, with the omelette being undercooked and the issue with the rarebit undetermined.I'm sorry to write a negative review because the waiting staff were lovely, but I felt I needed to report that eating here made us both physically unwell.

Went here for the food only around lunchtime, can’t speak to the quality of the hotel.I would not recommend the food from here at all. The eggs were undercooked to the point where my partner got sick afterwards, and I felt nauseous after my meal as well. Food is very overpriced (£7 for beans on toast, cheese on an omelette is extra) and mediocre, though I will say the service was very kind.

We've been to the café/restaurant and didn't stay in the hotel. The café is great and worth the visit. The food was good and the service wonderful.

We stayed here last night and what a joy it was. The very friendly staff checked us in and showed us our lovely comfortable room. The mini fridge had fresh milk and chocolate and the room has tea making facilities and a coffee machine, oh, and lovely biscuits. The location is fantastic and we went out for drinks and dinner. Breakfast was gorgeous. We didn’t have big breakfasts but my wife and I are agreed it was the best we’ve had in ages. The breakfast menu is extensive and imaginative. We can’t wait to go back

Lunch only: Spot on in every way, the soup, the cheesey scone that came with it. The fish finger sandwich with crispy potatoes, superb coleslaw, yes it's the little details that made it a great lunch.

First class hotel, no hesitation in returning or recommending. Our room was very nice, the hotel in a great location, food was excellent and the staff were brilliant. Breakfast on the balcony was an added bonus.
Dont normally make these comments but our stay at Haydens was perfect. Lovely welcoming drinks and cake, great breakfast. Impeccable room with every need catered for. We have stayed in enough good quality hotels to understand just how good Haydens really is. Well done to all.
