Attentive and friendly without being overbearing.Lovely decor and general atmosphere.Interesting and varied menu.Well kept beer.Beautifully cooked fish.Brilliant potatoes served with the fish and the triple cooked potatoes were good too.However, a side of "local greens with herb oil" was just some tenderstem broccoli - I was expecting something more. Served on a small side plate, it felt very underwhelming. The croquette starter was very nice but the presentation was lacking. The croquettes and a dollop of mayonnaise could have done with some garnish to lift the plate. The same for the maceral pate which was served with two pieces of Rye bread. I think perhaps a different bread would have been a lot nicer here than Rye bread. The pate itself served with dill oil was nice though. The hake dish, whilst perfectly cooked, could have done with a nice sauce to bring everything together.It was a decent enough meal, but my expectations were high based on the menu and unfortunately, the expectations weren't quite met.Cannot fault the service though with everyone being incredibly friendly.Parking: The car park is an awkward width which meant some manoeuvring was required to get out.

Order was ready within 2 minutes of arriving and all packaged up ready to take.Staff were really friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere of the restaurant was really nice and we would like to dine in next time.Food was excellent and enjoyed by all our in our party with good size portionsWould definitely recommend Sahebs.

50 Cinque Ports St, RyeSuch a warm welcome as soon as you walk in. Staff are very smart and professional. The venue has been recently renovated to a high standard clean and welcoming. As for the food that was exceptional. I have eaten in many Indian restaurants and this has to be rated as one of the best and very good value for money. Keep up the excellent work guys we will definitely be back - worth the trip from Hertfordshire.

The Mermaid Inn
Mermaid St, RyeOld and historic hotel in the center of Rye. Full of amazing history and charm. We stayed here 1 night and loved the history of the room and hotel. Unfortunately due to the age of the hotel, the walls and floors are paper thin. This means you can hear your neighbors and the people above you. We had some restless people above us moving around all night and it persistently woke me up. So we slept very poorly unfortunately. Because of that I wouldn't stay again. I also did not find the reception to be particularly friendly or helpful. Our dinner and breakfast at the hotel were both very nice so we were very satisfied about that part. Lots of pros and cons here.

30 Wish St, RyeCame here to pick up a couple bacon sandwiches to sit out on the harbor to watch the bikes ride by. Great morning and a great bacon sandwich with thick crusty bread. Will definitely be back but to try an actual fry up next time. Friendly staff as well by the way ?

Service is friendly, helpful and efficient and prices are affordable too. Astrid has worked hard to transform the previous cafe into a light, airy space that is perfect for families with young children who love softplay but is also suitable for all age groups and very accessible. You can even order one of her amazing Cupcake Queen celebration cakes! A huge asset to Rye, the cafe is proving very popular already. Just wish I lived closer to visit more often. Tower St, RyeSo many cider options I was absolutely spoilt for choice. Such a fun idea to encourage talking to people in the pub by having larger tables. Quirky and worth at least a quick pint to see it.

The Hope Anchor Hotel
Watchbell St, RyeGreat location, fantastic room and lovely people.Could not recommend stayin at The Hope Anchor enough, it is great.Even what could be seen as an inconvenience is the parking, you will need to drop bags and park about 10 minutes walk away (or bring your car up after 6:00) was great walking through the gorgeous town to get back to the hotel.And the best breakfast we have had in the UK!
