Great food, the service was good but a smile with the service would have been even better. One of my favourites. Definitely worth the 30 minute

Really quaint and cosy pub - the food was delectable, it really shows how much soul and effort goes into it, so please give my compliments to the chef!Thank you for a lovely lunch ?

We had a lovely lunch out on the benches at the front in the sunshine with a nice view, food was great, service quick & friendly.

We are regulars at the Peacock. The service has always been incredible, they hire amazing people. The food is pub grub cooked deliciously but there’s a specials board with exciting delightful dishes. Classic country pub atmosphere and usually packed, so book to avoid

Came here for a meal with friends. Very expensive & disappointed. Main course was £25 , had a lime & soda & mango sorbet & it cost me £40. Not at all value for money & average food. Service good.

Last minute booking for Sunday lunch which was excellent. I had the roast chicken and my partner the beef. Both very impressed. Service was friendly and prompt. Will definitely be back.

Delicious food, could have more knowledge/offers on cocktails (as basic as a Long Island) but as it is a village pub I’m happy with leaving 5

The food was excellent until dessert then crumble was great but no option of custard first restaurant ever not to offer custard!! Service was appalling a can’t be bothered attitude so because of that we won’t be rushing to return

The pub has many things in its favour, the food was good and some thought had gone into the menu. The building was everything you would wish for, oak beams, Tudor frontage, pleasant gardens, picturesque and charming. Sadly, the staff at front of house with the exception of a young girl gave the impression they really would have preferred being elsewhere and forgot the important role they play to complete the guests experience. It is always wise to remember what you would expect from staff if you or your family were spending your hard earnt money somewhere else. Whatever differences there may be with colleagues ,home demands or working inconvenient shifts, the customer should be welcomed and valued and not seen as an inconvenience. I hope this review is helpful as the grand old pub deserves better.

A lovely pub lunch experience recommend if you are in the area.

6 of my family visited the peacock for lunch today to celebrate 2 birthdays I found the experience leaving a nasty taste in my mouth as firstly the staff were extremely surly which seemed to affect the whole atmosphere and ambiance, the menu I thought seemed basic but to be fair turned up pretty much all together and hot. Also the drinks that I ordered didn’t come in there brand glasses, as most people know for instance lager needs to be served in a lager glass because it has a widget that keeps the beer lively, gin needs to be in a large bowl glass it looks so much better , my Harvey’s best bitter needed more conditioning and was served in a Guinness glass
