Chequers
High St, Maresfield, UckfieldWe had a really lovely stay at The Chequers. Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the staff were helpful and attentive. We ate dinner in the restaurant which was delicious. In the morning a continental breakfast was laid out which was fresh and appetising. My husband also had a cooked breakfast which he enjoyed. The shower wasn’t brilliant but I guess it’s quite difficult to get the pressure up in the top floor. Overall we had a great stay and would definitely stay there again.

The Pig & Butcher
Five Ash Down, UckfieldPopped in for lunch on bank holiday Monday and was surprised that it was quite so empty.
Can't think why! We had a delicious roast beef lunch and a couple of desserts.
Serving staff were brilliantly polite and enthusiastic.
We'll be back????

I decided to pop in and have a proper meal for once. Delightful waitress service with Geraldine and Ricardo ably assisted by little Sebastian ( he’s only 3!)
Had two glasses of their blended house red which went down well, a starter and main from Chef’s Speciality list followed by Tiramisu, my favourite!!! T’was a lot of dosh to spend for one person but it was a treat for myself!!! Can thoroughly recommend everything about the experience.

Has to be up there as the best curry I've ever tried.
Vegetarian options: Being a vegetarian, I always feel that the choices are somewhat limited at other restaurants but here they had some amazing vege specials and I was spoilt for choice.
Highly recommended the Coconut and Chilli Tofu!

The Hurstwood
Hurstwood Rd, High Hurstwood, UckfieldWe have dined at this lovely village pub twice and were equally impressed the second time. We took our dogs with us as we were staying in the area and was literally across the road from our holiday rental. The staff are very friendly, welcoming and made a fuss of our dogs, which they loved. The food and wine menus are excellent. There were interesting tasty and well thought out vegetarian options, which is a refreshing change from the usual pub offerings. The food is well presented and tastes like it's been made with love, so the slightly higher prices seem reasonable for the effort that's clearly been made. The garden is beautiful with a large covered decked area for outside dining, complete with throws and coloured lanterns which made the outside area very pretty. We'll definitely return when we're next in the area!

London Rd, UckfieldWe went in with our two dogs today and ordered 2 Sunday roasts. We usually frequent a different establishment for our Sunday feeding but we took the plunge after walking the kids to try out the new owners menu. Without too much more ado, We weren't disappointed with our choice. Two dinners later and we both agreed that it was the best Sunday roasts that we ever had.. it's a family run pub with Dad in the kitchen , the man is a culinary genius, it was a nice touch too that he took the time to come out during the meal and see how we were ... Really friendly well run family restaurant and bar with ( in my humble opinion) the best food around.. well worth the visit... 10/10...

It’s a shame Ryan doesn’t do food everyday of the week as I would eat there everyday of the week not just Friday Saturday and Sunday !!!

Horsted Place
Little Horsted, UckfieldAbsolutley beautiful venue for a wedding! We were the wedding DJs at Horsted Place Hotel at the weekend for Mike and Alison and provided music outside for the ceremony, background music at the meal and the evening disco. We loved this place and all the staff were great! 100% recommend for anyone looking for a venue for their wedding!

Kid-friendliness: My daughter had a kids toastie and she said “it was banging” which in kid speak is high praise!

Fortune Fish Bar
210 High St, UckfieldTravelled 9 hours just to try and wasn’t disappointed. Anyone passing by should in fact needs to get some. The fish was just mouth watering an the chips was just as good. Oh and the scampi was just beautiful. Owners are super friendly and welcoming. After having this I don’t feel any other chippy will compare. Would happily make the 9 hour round trip again. Thank you.

226 High St, UckfieldThe food was amazing.\\nWhile I appreciate they were busy as hell on Xmas Eve, having someone sticking their head through the door from the kitchen and berating the poor girl taking orders, in front of customers, and while she was on the phone is borderline abuse. It's not her fault people want to come in and order food. Be civil. Hence the 1-star atmosphere, awkward doesn't even come close.

78 New Town, UckfieldReally lovely food. We enjoyed 7therefore highly recommend) chicken chat puri and tandori chicken, then lamb rogan josh and lamb dopiasa.
Parking: We made the mistake of turning into the carpark opposite the railway station, then leaving immediately. That cost us the daily parking fee of £4.50 (but it would have been a £50 fine if we hadn't returned on foot to buy a ticket).
The council run car parks are free but further from the restaurant.

Pizza Express
77 High St, UckfieldEarlier this evening, I visited Uckfield pizza express with my sister and a friend, i would like to say that the lovely lady that served us named Sarah was very kind and accommodating to our requests.
The food there was lovely too. Thank you to all the members of staff there that served us. Was a lovely experience. The lighting however was a bit too dark, but this didn’t affect the taste of our food!. I highly recommend the ultimate chocolate fudge cake too!!!

Nat, West Bank, THE HOP BARN Olives Yard,opposite, High St, UckfieldI am becoming a regular at this wonderful place. Service is always amazing. Went for breakfast this morning and had pancakes with fruit and maple syrup. What can I say, I've had pancakes at Bills, which were dry, not enough maple syrup, BUT at the coffee barn, they were delicious. It's just a really lovely place to go.

57 High Street, UckfieldPizza arrived at the right time and was warm.Just a friendly suggestion - some chefs have the knack to make sure that the cheese does not get too stretchy and its taste can be relished. Like today the cheese on the pizza was too stretchy which spoiled the whole fun of relishing a pizza so if the other chefs can be mindful of this aspect it could really help.

Maresfield By Pass, Maresfield, UckfieldI don’t write reviews BUT I came here on the 21st August (Drive Thru), and I had the most succulent, heavenly and delicious burger I have ever eaten. My burger was wrapped so delicately and the bag was folded neatly. I ordered a double cheeseburger but guess what!! I got three patties. The staff were all so lovely and friendly. Will 10000% be returning
