Had a terrific breakfast here this morning with my wife and three young children. Hot, high-quality and consistent food resulted in five clear plates and smiles on our faces. Pete, is an incredibly attentive and great host. What a gem this is for Ramsden Heath. I can’t wait to return again soon.

Thought I'd visit based on other reviews. Have to say not disappointed at all! Very friendly staff. Lovely breakfast of smoked salmon, avocado and poached eggs with thick granary toast - great portion size. Also had hot chocolate with cream and cappacino which also tasted lovely. Highly recommend this place 100% as good prices too ? - will definitely return!

Honestly, this cafe is OK if you’re willing to spend a lot for a little and wait a long time.I visited this cafe a lot of times over the last year as I have been working on and off in the area. This cafe is EXPENSIVE in fact… DOUBLE expensive. You know a cafe is spenny when they charge a different price for 2 rasher bacon sandwich to a 3 rasher bacon ?But seriously, I waited 30 minutes today for 3 coffees which was £10 and they were TINY!Why do I keep coming back you ask? Tbh the sandwiches WERE good but they rubbish and stingey now, but it’s really close to a job I’m working on and sometimes needs must, but I feel like I’m being robbed everytime! Pete is weirdly friendly like he knows he’s robbing you and laughing in your face about it. Anyways, banging breakfast wrap shame I have to take a morgage out to get one

I wasnt sure whether to come here or not because I'm just a builder having lunch at work, but the price was only slightly higher than your classic greasy spoon, and the food was 10x better. Get your eggs poached, truuuuussst me!!! While I've been eating there's been 2 separate tables of regular customers that the staff know by namez that's always a good sign. Super polite, very reasonable but you should come here for the food, it's glorious!!!And after reading previous reviews and seeing the cafe, I can only imagine the carnage that would follow if 15 cyclists clad in lycra like power rangers that don't know what colour they are turned up for a skinny soy milk latte! The staff are as polite as can be, and it clearly was (and always will be) the cyclists fault.Quick addition, all the reviews are relatively ambiguous on the price, I got a "Weekender" 2 bacon 2 sausage 2 egg beans and mushrooms and 2 toast (freshly baked bread) for £12!!
I really like this place and the fact that dogs are welcome (not every room) is fantastic. They will even cook some sausages for your four legged friend as well. My partner had a cooked breakfast and I went for the smoked salmon and both plates were finished off. I'd seen photos of the milkshakes before going so I had to have one and was not disappointed.There is a small carpark and push bike stand out the back. I look forward to bringing my kids next time

Great place amazing staff outstanding service cleanliness 5 stars..I Highly recommend Petes place well worth a visit you won’t be disappointed.Pete and staff your amazing thank you…Although we are Hertfordshire based we will definitely be coming back best full English I’ve eaten fresh local food homemade sausages proper bread and butter even asked how I like my egg and bacon served pure perfection on a plate Well done to you all x

Found this cafe by chance - the best breakfast I’ve ever had. Staff and chef so friendly, the food was amazing. Will definitely be returning weekly and recommending to others!

Lovely popular cafe, good varied menu, will always try and accommodate any particular food related request. Very friendly staff and Pete always has time to talk and is passionate about his cooking and cafe. We usually go on a Saturday for breakfast, can get busy by mid morning. Not had a bad experience yet and definitely our preferred cafe in the local area.Vegetarian options: Can offer various flavour veggie sausages for your breakfast. Will adjust the breakfast to your specific request if at all possible and ingredients are in.
