Went back here yesterday after being disappointed last year. Well all I can say is congratulations. Now 5 stars. Lovely refurbished pub/restaurant, friendly staff, busy, still didn't have to wait too long for food. Great choice of food, reasonable prices which will make a difference in the current climate. So glad I decided to give another go, as last year disappointed. Highly recommend. Great value for money, service excellent, atmosphere great. One happy customer, will return.

Visited the newly renovated Hatvester tonight and was not disappointed. Even though they were very busy the staff were amazing. Ellie our hostess was amazing friendly, attentive and professional. Checking we were OK and had everything we needed. The food was fantastic, tasty, hot and lots of it. Harry was also a real credit to harvester super friendly. The manager was phenomenal totally on top of food orders liaising with the kitchen and ensuring only top quality food left the kitchen. People are always quick to complain but never to praise and they totally deserved a massive thanks tonight for an amazing job.

On arrival we were greeted at the front desk and taken to our seats and asked what drinks we wanted they were brought back in minutes. All staff very friendly and polite so welcoming. ALL food was excellent and fresh and tasted brilliant we had chicken and ribs with gravy, corn on the cob and chips along with the salad bar. The restaurant was clean after its make over! It was clean before as we have been here many times before would definitely be returning

Newly refurbished, tasty comfort food and amazing service! We went on the reopening day for my dads 70th birthday lunch. They have done an amazing job on refurb, it really does look great in there! The service was impeccable, efficient and served with a smile! They let me bring balloons and a cake (most restaurants don't allow this!) which they hid in the kitchen, decorated with the cake topper and candles that I had brought along and they brought it out for dessert with 3 of the staff singing happy birthday! My dad was surprised and chuffed! The food was fantastic. My dad had the gammon and said it was the best he'd had! My husband and I had the ribs and they were juicy, succulent and cooked to perfection. My mum also polished off her chicken burger! We will definitely be back and thanks to all the staff who made my dad's lunch a most enjoyable occasion!

Food really wasn't that good, there was nearly 30 mins between starters and mains, I nearly gagged on some rotten cabbage in the salad bar Coleslaw. The waitress we had was fab. can't fault her at all. My daughters mash had clearly been kept warm for too long as was crusty on top. I would have complained more, my hubby however isn't a complainer, we just won't return there.

Staff were good but the manager made it a terrible experience for me, called me a liar loudly infront of my kin

Booked in at the Five Bells as the place we were staying at wasn't doing breakfast! What a result, couldn't fault anything apart from the toast a bit lightly done. Would highly recommend.

What’s the point of helping yourself too salad and the waitress does it for u , rather go Pizza Hut too help your self, covid is over now sort it out, the food was disgusting, burnt, over priced I ain’t coming back , harvesters around Basildon is not worth it at all, please drive past the five bells!!!!

Always book no matter the day or time, or you will be asked to eat in the bar which smells of urine or outside with all the smokers. Tried to get a table for 2 people on a Thursday at 1:30pm and this happened to us. I then sat in the bar and booked a table online and only then was we allowed to sit in the restaurant.
