Went tonight 12 Jan as it was a 50% off day The food was excellent as were the staff and it friendly and well organised. But I need to bring to the managements attention this observation for the good of the venue. The man in front of me at the servery requested a large plate...he requested pork Gammon and Turkey. He requested his Pork and gammon to be cut from the new joints....I would have done the same... but the server refused and cut from the tiny end scrags of pork and gammon...and i mean tiny..and he spent more time cutting away the grim fat and dry up parts..and the man ended up with small portion. bearing in mind he went large....I would have refused what he was served...but he was too nice a man to complain....I had just beef and got a portion the same size as the man in front of me which I as happy with as I am not one for large plates. This was very poor on behalf of the server and I suspect he was under pressure to be very economical with the joints...I must add the server was a nice man either poorly trained in customer relations or made a very wrong decision...either way the buck stops with Management to insure quality control

I am on Tablets that I cannot eat much so I could just have a childs portion but my son had the adults portions extra pigs in blankets starters and pancakes. so we both ate what was enough for us, waitress was very

Great place for a actual proper dinner, amazing Yorkshire puds, meat very tender, great atmosphere amazing staff the only down side is I wish they did broccoli but definitely worth going.

This year on Christmas day for the first time we ate out for dinner. It was the best Christmas Dinner we have had in a long time and will definitely be returning for Christmas Dinner Christmas 2024. The girls working who were involved in our dinner and organising Paris, Paige and Kelly they did an amazing job we were a family of 23 eating and it never went wrong at all. Kelly also played Elf when you see santa and she smashed it let's hope the Toby do breakfast with santa again.Christmas 2023 was made awesome by Toby carvery Basildon. Keep up the great work team we appreciate every single one of you and all the efforts you put in all year round. Thank you see you on the 30th for another large family meal. Thank you. Xx

Christmas dinner very efficient even though there was over 20 of us . Special mention for Paris and Kelly as regulars we have been served by these girls all year and it was great to see them on Christmas day. We wouldn't go anywhere else.Parking: Parking always available with disabled places

Myself and family went along to tony for boxing day dinner yesterday, we never usually go out out for Christmas time but was nice for no one to have to cook, wash up etc. All staff was friendly and helpful. I spoke to the man carving the meat about an issue I had at another carvery and he was brilliant making sure I didn't have the same issue. Staff happily helped by taking my sons birthday cake and bringing out/singing for him whoch was nice for a Christmas day boy lol its easy for birthday to be pushed aside. Everything was great. Been a couple of times before too. Thanks again for all the help.Vegetarian options: We was unsure what the option would be for our daughter whose veggie, but we was surprised at the options available and the size of the parcel (brocoli and brie) that she had.

We book this experience every year for Xmas eve and this year again did not dissapoint. The food was lovely , all fresh and hot and eggs were runny which is also a bonus!! Santa was fun and kids loved it and present given was a nice touch. Special mention to Kelly the elf who was amazing!! Will be booking again next year

Overall food was good. Service quick. Pigs in blankets were far from great and definitely not worth the extra cost. I would not bother again or recommend them to anyone. Not sure how the sausage can be crispy and the bacon not!

I don't tend to write reviews for chains, you know what you are going in for. I like Toby carvery, this is a nice Toby Carvery: warm, good atmosphere (especially for December time), plenty of food. But today I write as a thank you to the waitress. Anyone with kids knows that eating out is never going to be a relaxing experience, but this meal was just one of those, ' shall we just go home' moments. However, our lovely waitress Rachel looked after us, and helped me keep my sanity as I was close to losing it! So a big thank you like her. I do think at chains, it is the staff that can make the restaurants standout and that was definitely the case here.

been coming to the basildon toby for years always lovely food and welcoming staff never any complaints always had a great time when visit. love that there even a dedicated menu for children as my fussy 3 year old won't eat a roast and he got nuggets so happy all round family ? even more so happy that they have plain potatoes without gravy as my asd boy wouldn't eat the gravey so would say they have thought of everyone.Kid-friendliness: my kids love it here they are always so friendly to the kids and have a separate menu for little kids
Roast dinner was lovely as always. The ice cream portions are getting smaller each time we visit. Just need that bit more considering how much the sundae ? are. Atmosphere is welcoming.

Very festive, lovely to have parsnips and Brussels, although did miss the onions with my roast beef. Waitress was very efficient the best part for the 4 of us was once we had our table we could go straight up to get our food ??Thank you TobyParking: Plenty of spaces, would really appreciate automatic doors though ?.

Went for the Chritmas breakfast with friends and was very busy, but weren't kept waiting too long to be seated.Breakfast was plentiful, but not too many options for Gluten Free.
