We have been to these restaurant several times and had a superb experience but I went with some friends on Friday and was very disappointed. The food was certainly nothing more than ordinary. I ordered a pasta dish and it was dry and inedible

Don't open on time leaving customers out in the cold, over priced drinks well over £4 for half a larger yet £6 for a pint!Beautiful place and very quiet

Visited for a birthday meal. Was wished Happy Birthday on entry. A wide-ranging menu to suit all tastes. Excellent service. Look forward to my next visit.

We had a wonderful meal at Il Salice in October so we are sad to learn that the previous Owners have left. We had booked a table for Christmas day through them and the new Owners have said that they are honouring the bookings. However when I spoke to them they did not ask for my details or acknowledge my pre-order which left me feeling unsure. On this basis and due to the current poor reviews our party has decided not to spend Christmas day at Il Salice. My poor review is based on my interaction with the new Owners and does not represent the amazing meal that we had there in October. I cannot currently recommend this pub/restaurant and if you have booked for Christmas day please check to see what they are offering and if they have your booking.

Arrived for a Saturday night with friends for first experience, our friends had raved about it. Upon arrival it was clear the menu was Italian, but apart from that not really any real Italian experience and the previous owners had sold out to 'go travelling'. Cold and atmosphere less and the drinks expensive. Starter was average at best and no Italian panache, in taste or decor. Cold plate and dumped in a splodge might have been a better description, the standard was consistent across all four starters, being below par. The main was a better improvement, but not really of what I was to expect and certainly not to the standard of the prices being charged. It was not really busy so I couldn't understand why it was not plated and served better. At least it had a more Italian taste, but lacked any relationship with Southern Europe - perhaps the Mafia had taken-out the Chef when the owner sold out recently? £275 for a meal for 4 inc pre-dinner drinks (only 2 desserts) and an Irish coffee that was the poorest I think ever experienced, white coffee with a shot would be a better description. Sadly not an experience I wish to repeat.

Disappointing - Reviews vastly overinflate the quality and service. Far too expensive for an Italian and cooked without Italian flare by a very pleasant group of Asian chaps who tripped over themselves on the service front. Will not return and cannot recommend.

Average at best.. Starter was OK Main course was bland - Pollo Milanese Tiramisu was nice Ghost ship (beer) average Price - Expensive for what we got £250.00 for 4 people, which included one bottle of wine and 2 beers. Wouldn’t be going back.
