Incredibly decorated! Very quirky. The hooks for the specials boards was a great idea. The food was cooked and presented perfectly - waiting staff and bar staff were fantastic. Attentive but not annoying - great balance. 10/10 would recommend!

This place is a pricey but excellent restaurant. Its worth every penny spent. Amazing cocktails, great atmosphere and food I would expect to find in a Michelin star restaurant. Between myself and my wife we had the mussels and rabbit croquette to start followed by chicken and the fillet steak. Everything was prepared and cooked to perfection. If we are ever coming this way again this will be the first place we book.

My first experience of Bottomless Prosecco lunch was at The Chophouse last week ad I absolutely loved it! The food was delicious and my glass was literally never empty. I can't wait to book again!

My partner and I enjoyed a fabulous meal here last night. The staff were friendly, attentive and courteous. The atmosphere relaxed, yet sophisticated and the food, oh my word, was utterly delicious. Thank you team….we will definitely be back.

Well presented and prepared food from a well sourced, local produce menu. Good wine selection and some very nice locally crafted gins and beers.Service was very good. Overall, good value for money in a pleasant surrounding. Still the best eats in Braintree by some way. Only gripe (nothing the owners could really do) was a table of extremely loud, very drunk and foul mouthed people. At times, a bouncer does come in handy. The waiter serving them had the patience of a Saint way beyond the point at which I would have delivered a slapping.Top marks.

Went here to celebrate a birthday, and it was such an enjoyable evening. The service was amazing, and the staff were really friendly. Food was delicious, and we really enjoyed everything that we were served. Will be back again

Lovely place, well decor and nice atmosphere, young and friendly stuff (maybe too young in some occasions ) The main meal was good (pork roast) , good size and very tasty. Kid meal was bit poor (burger, very dry with bun and nothing else) they might forget the lattice, tomato and all the other ingredients to make a burger) So far we was pretty satisfied about everything and we decide to take a treat, a home dessert. That where everything went wrong. I really don’t understand how it’s possible that a restaurant can serve this dessert!! Panna cotta of the taste of nothing. Tart of the “chef special” tasteless and very liquid. A restaurant can’t charge £17 for this 2 poor desserts. I really would like to give an advice for the chef who made our dessert, change job.

I booked a table for two and forgot to change this to three. Staff were happy to accommodate and gave us the option of where they could fit us in now with a full restaurant. Food was really good, scallops and pork belly starter was definitely a good choice.. Price wasn't bad at all, 3 beers, 3 starters, 3 mains and a bottle of red for £150ish. 100% will return.

Wow. Amazing meal here for my birthday. We were seated downstairs which was nice and quiet - not too many other tables. Great decor and feel about the place. Staff knew what they were doing and felt like a well run restaurant. Fillet steak was cooked perfectly. And presented beautifully. Gluten-free not an issue. Cocktails we’re good too! Such a wonderful little place for a special occasion. Such a treat. Thank you to all staff working there - you know your stuff. And it shows. A well oiled machine.

We booked on weekend trip based on reviews and were not disappointed. Friendly and attentive service - we were greeted by 4 different staff on our way to our table and served by several during the evening, all of whom were professional and friendly. Good food and wine at reasonable prices - we paid £120 for pre-dinner drinks, two course meal (too full to have dessert!) and a bottle of wine. Nice ambience and would thoroughly recommend.

Lovely restaurant!My boyfriend and I decided to stop for lunch after we saw so many good reviews and we haven't been disappointed!The atmosphere is cozy and elegant at the same time, I loved the way they furnished the venue.The food was great, we had the fried calamari and the mussels and … wow, everything was great!We had the steak and flatbread as mains and were delicious.A big thanks to our waiters Harry and Milly, who made our experience absolutely perfect!Highly recommended!
