On holiday and came upon this pub. Excellent service, amazingly friendly bartenders. However, it was trivia night, so people not playing were continuously shushed by the patrons. It was like drinking in a library. Definitely would go back...just not trivia night.

We had Mother’s Day here the atmosphere was busy, but staff were lovely had time to chat to us, all mothers got a gift , Mother’s Day menu was great I had the pear salad with goats cheese, it was delicious, Sunday roast was hot, and plentiful and we had the sticky toffee pudding for dessert a lovely afternoon thank you to all the staff

A lovely pub with a great atmosphere and such friendly staff. I love how dog friendly The Spread Eagle is, with treats and lots of attention available to the visiting pups. I haven’t tried the food yet, but what I’ve seen while being there it looks amazing and I look forward to trying it soon.

We went here for a girlie friends date night. First time at The Spread Eagle and I will definitely be returning and highly recommend you take a visit. The staff were beyond friendly and attentive and as I arrived before everyone else they made me feel really welcome and comfortable. The bar atmosphere is really chilled and cosy. As it’s Christmas there’s plenty of fairy lights and decorations given it a festive feel.We ordered some food but weren’t pressured into ordering until our whole party had arrived and we had decided on what we wanted. Even though the menu isn’t that big I was still stuck for what I fancied. I decided on a pizza as the Four Cheese sounded and amazing and included Blue Cheese. Yum. The food came out hot and fresh. Everyone kept commenting that they couldn’t eat it yet as it was so hot. Brilliant! I love when the food is hot and fresh and hasn’t just been sitting waiting to be served. My pizza was, as advertised, super cheesy. It could have done with a little garnish of basil or fresh herbs just as an extra point but it was still tasty and fresh. I also ordered a portion of chips which were lovely. Not greasy but both crispy and fluffy. My friends ordered some burgers and said they were both great and again piping hot.As I said we’ll definitely be back even if it’s just for the friendly staff. Thank you Spread Eagle.
