Recently celebrated my mums 70th birthday there. Quality food and service. We had the room upstairs which holds 50 people. The restaurant has an amazing resident singer. Overall excellent experience ?

Pleasant setting. My view is that the food was overpriced. I ordered veal in cream sauce. The veal was overcooked. For dessert I ordered pannacotta and pistachio sauce. Food presentation was poor and the pannacotta was like a blancmange- I assume made with too much gelatin. Staff were very friendly, helpful and courteous.

Went there with my daughters to celebrate Mother's Day. We had booked a table for 6pm however upon arrival were told there was no table reserved for us and despite there being an empty set table for 4 down stairs, we were taken upstairs to the bar/dining section and sat at an unprepared table - no cutlery/glasses/napkins. And when these were given to us they were literally flung at the table without care or kindness. When our food was ready, the waiter took it to the wrong table where our plates were handled/touched by other people before realizing that it was not theirs - upon which the waiter simply brought it to us, expecting us to accept it. We could not have dessert as we were told it had finished this despite seeing the same dessert we had asked for being served on other tables. And so we asked for our bill minus service charge, and left. We were made to feel worse than walk-ins - we felt invisible and insignificant as customers of colour. As we sat there and observed the service at other tables, it was clear that we were treated less favourably. This would not be our first unpleasant experience at this restaurant but we thought we'd give them the benefit of a doubt. The first time we booked a table but upon arrival were made to wait for approximately 20 minutes to be seated. It is such a shame because we love their food - the chef's hard work is being let down by poor service at the front. Maybe next time I should book under an English name and see if I will get a table as I walk in.

Came in slightly early and we're sat at a table right by the door which was fairly uncomfortable as there was a constant draft when people were coming in and leaving. We sat there from when we came in roughly 10 minutes early and waited for 50 minutes before our order was taken - by which point the table that came in after us were already finishing their starters. When our starters came I waited roughly five minutes looking around trying to catch a waiters eye I had order a white wine and cream mussel starter and was given the wrong sauce which was tomato the other option I was hungry and decided to eat them, mussels were not washed properly and beards were not taken off full of grit which is important when preparing any shellfish especially bottom feeders like mussels. The glass of wine I had was lovely and probably really the only highlight of our meal. After explaining there was grit in the mussels to the waiter our mains came out very quickly and piping hot. Not only that but during the interim between nobody came over and offered us limoncello - like they did with other people. My girlfriend's steak was beautifully cooked but completely under seasoned, and potatoes were not very nice and sauce was very weak. My seafood linguine was watery, everything apart from the pasta was cooked to oblivion all the shellfish was rubbery. Waiter asked about everything, if it wasn't for the fact it was my girlfriend's birthday and she asked me not to create a scene, I would have been very clear about how poor this was. I paid for everything including service charge which I really didn't think was at all not even in the slightest bit deserved. It was busy and I gathered there was a party upstairs. But it is down on you to judge bookings and organise everything in a timely manner to ensure good service and good food for everyone. We felt completely disregarded in comparison to everyone, and really no effort was made to rectify what I had said about the mussels. I feel sick and I really hope it is nothing to do with the food especially the mussels which were not WASHED at all. Covered in barnacles. Considering all the rave stuff everyone has said about this place I expected a half decent evening and you provided us with the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. Especially at the price point. I paid an eye watering 90 pounds for four courses a glass of wine and a sprite - which I will never get back. Really disappointed and saddened a local place is like this, I really wanted to get behind you guys and eat with you regularly but definitely not after this experience.

Dessert was not worthy for an Italian restaurant, real Italians would cry. Way too loud live music.

Great restaurant and very accommodating for a large group. Went for my mum’s 80th and they didn’t disappoint us. Relaxed and friendly staff and efficient service. Would definitely recommend.

If you have a choice go to the Hornchurch branch which is 5*. Cramped in near the stairs. Food mediocre. Feel bad as clearly understaffed but wouldn't recommend this branch.

Lovely little authentic Italian with a warm welcoming atmosphere and lovely food.

Really tasty food. Good atmosphere. And generous portions. My wife and myself were both delighted by starters and mains. Will be back soon for sure.

Food was a bowl of pasta I could have made at home, music blaring so we couldn't even talk.. Over priced and over rated.

Proper Italian, good food, reasonable price, nice people. What's not to like?

We've been coming for a couple of years now, the food has always been good and the service thoughtful and considerate. However, on our last visit, we noticed that soft drinks, with a 10% discretionary service charge, now costs £5.06 each. That felt a bit excessive...so we'll probably give a return visit second thoughts next time...Wheelchair accessibility: Make sure you specify downstairs seating!
