Cafe was very full and that speaks volumes. My brother had halloumi burger with mushrooms and fresh coleslaw.. loved it ... As for me, I went for satisfying my sweet tooth with a piece of lemon and raspberry cake! Divine! Staff were welcoming with smiles. Cafe and toilet very clean. I enjoyed it immensely

This is a really cute cafe, but the staff need to pay attention to the orders they're taking and get it right first time. It was bustling but no one was rushed off their feet. Food was ok but not great. Coffee is good. Will go again as they're local.

Reunited over a delicious full breakfast including a slice of glutenfree toast. Wonderful portions. Very good coffee and it is even possible to get a spoonful of honey instead of sugar.

Came across this cafe by chance looking for some all day breakfast. Service was swift, coffees and cold drinks came quickly, food just as quick. The food was amazing, hot, delicious and perfect sized portions. The staff are all very polite and friendly. Would recommend.

Visited today. Busy at lunchtime. Food good as usual. Seated in the smaller back area. Floor very grubby., Room to side of where we were sitting ??kitchen as staff went in and out with food. The door to this room was filthy. The only part that looked a little cleaner was the part which was used to push the door open. (Swing door) The whole place just looked as though a facelift was needed. Used to be a regular visitor, but hadn’t been able to visit for a few months. Even the toilet looked as though it could do with a bit of a wash and dust. Perhaps the cleaner has left. Would have commented while in the cafe, but there were others around. Pity because it’s always been a great little place with friendly staff.

There is a song about a pub with no beer! we found out on a recent trip to Brightlingsea this is a cafe with no food? It was mid-afternoon on a Saturday when my wife and I sat down to look at the menu. The waitress came over and spoke; "Sorry we are not serving food" "Not any food at all?" we asked. "No" she unapologetically replied, "I suggest you try the Cafe over the road" She walked away, and we took her advice. The reason why this Cafe was not serving any food on a busy Saturday remains a mystery. So, if you want a warm welcome and a warm plate of any food in Brightlingsea may I suggest the 'Cafe over the road'

Popped in for a late lunch after a breezy walk. Delicious toasted sandwiches with sundried tomatoes, pesto, olives and mozzarella. Just right. Coffee was good too.
