Lovely old pub. Popped in Saturday afternoon for a quick drink and a bite to eat. Staff were very friendly and food was really tasty!

Booked a table in advance for lunch , good move as they were busy. Charming small old pub . Attention from the staff was friendly and good. We mains and dessert from the daily specials. Beautifully cooked. Thoroughly recommend a visit.

Staff were lovely, service was great. Unfortunately, I had the cod and chips. The fish tasted of nothing and the batter was very sloppy. Told the waitress, she apologised but that was the end of that. Not a cheap place to eat, so I expected more customer care.

Came here for a birthday lunch, whilst the atmosphere was great, the food wasn't amazing (particularly the mains). Our starters were good as were the deserts. I think the main thing that let you down was the service. We had to keep getting up from our table and seeking out a waitress to get simple things like more water glasses (given 4 on a table of 8), side plates for the shared camembert starter, and finally the bill.

I've been going to the plough for years, one of the firm favorites in our family. The service is great, good value food, local beers and a fantastic country pub atmosphere with log burners going in the winter and beautiful gardens in the summer. There's a nice walk around the seawall which we often do to walk off our lunch then pop back in again afterwards for a drink before heading home.

Everything was OK. The liver and bacon was fine,as was the steak and kidney pie. The mash was acceptable as were the peas. Nothing was amiss, nothing was noteworthy. Drinks were as expected from a pub. I wish there was a “good” score but there isn’t. The overall experience was not “very good” so I can’t give four bubbles.

We ate in the Plough yesterday and loved it. The roasts were lovely, the service was fantastic and very hard to find old school pubs like this anymore. Proper hearty food, good portions and reasonably priced. Definitely coming again to try some of the other stuff on the menu. Shame I had to drive as I would love to have had a few drinks but it wouldn't have its charm if it was easy to get to! Well worth the drive out, it was very busy, great atmosphere but make sure you book a table.
