Peaberries
41 High St, Burnham-on-CrouchStopped off here on a motorcycle ride out from Kent. The salt beef bagel was delicious. Atmosphere was lovely for a stop off and a refresh. The lady running the place today was very welcoming and kind and didn't break the bank for lunch which is a rarity! ?

The Queens Head
26 Providence, Burnham-on-CrouchThis pub has Schremser on tap! A lovely session pilsner from Austria which I've never seen available on tap in any pub I've been in before. This pub also has live music and 4 real ales on pump at all times. Great beer focused pub.

The Ship Inn
52 High St, Burnham-on-CrouchRoom, food and staff are fantastic. I would give 5 stars for all but there was one issue that meant I did not get a great night's sleep: the light on the fire exit is really bright and lights the entire room up.

Parlour Cafe
Creeksea Place Farm, Ferry Rd, Burnham-on-CrouchWe had a not quite hot enough coffee here. It tasted good but wasn't very big. The cakes were delicious.Parking: There's usually somewhere to park. It's also on a nice, but muddy, walk. So you could park at Burnham marina and walk along the sea wall. Turning right at the muddiest patch, going up the slope and not left along the sea wall to Creeksea. If you find yourself in Creeksea, just keep going and the lane to the cafe is up the lane on the right.

Burnham Seafood and Oyster Bar
High St, Burnham-on-CrouchI have lived in the surrounding area of this seafood bar, for many years. Amazingly, I have never been to Burnham on Crouch on the days that they operate. Well, yesterday I was, and am so glad to have found them! The proprietor, John Strowlger, was a lovely man. Helpful, genuine and obviously knew his trade. I bought a variety of seafood, including crab, mussels and whelks. All of it was top notch, fresh and beautiful. As a result of yesterday’s visit, my wife and I will change our Burnham visits to include Friday’s. A visit to John’s Seafood & Oyster Bar will be a regular pit stop for us now! Thanks for the welcome, John and thanks for the perfect delights from our sea. It was all first class sea fare. Steve Haward

Ruam Thai Restaurant
20A High St, Burnham-on-CrouchMy friend and I visited your restaurant on the 11th March 2023 and would like to say the food was very tasty and very fresh so we decided to have a bottle off Prosecco priced at £30 when we started it we realized it was tesco finest this was not stated on your menu and we was very shocked and disappointed that your mark up equated to £21-50 on top off a bottle off tesco finest Prosecco sold at tesco for £8-50 which in the end spoilt the whole experience very disappointed I realize you have to have a profit but £21-50 is a bit hard to swallow anyway I look forward to your reply explaining your pricing policy

Jolly Fryer
43 High St, Burnham-on-CrouchWe had large fish and chips with a savaloy .. the fish was delicious flaky and pure white inside although still a few tiny bones found ..the chips need to be bigger and longer because they were small and quite greasy with too many potato eyes in them which is a waste of food and moneySeemed like newer people again that have taken over the shop.. although very friendly the young girls t shirt was dirty it had what looked like white paint stains all over it . Presentation and cleanliness is key to win over any competitors and gain customersDietary restrictions: I didn't see any calories written on the shop menu .. maybe they were on the takeaway menu..I did see the option of food to be cooked in rapeseed oil or ground nut oilParking: Minimal parking down this end of the high str although it is freeWheelchair accessibility: Although street level it is a very small shop and would be difficult to manoeuvre inside with the rope chain in place and all the outdoor furniture inside the shop which was easy to trip over

The Polash
169 Station Rd, Burnham-on-CrouchNot living in the area, this restaurant was among a few within a 5 mile radius that we were recommended. We chose it because its website had an amazing looking dish on the front page. At the restaurant the staff were friendly and willing to talk through dishes. The menu was quite extensive without being overwhelming. For the uninitiated there was a menu with full descriptions of the dishes. The service was excellent - quick with the drinks and poppadoms, then slower and giving more time for us to choose our dishes. The food was well presented and the portion sizes just right. Our different dishes were excellent and just per the menu descriptions. We will definitely go to The Polash next time we have cause to visit Southend. Our thanks to the people who gave us the recommendation and to all the staff for their humour, conversation and service to make our dinner a completely enjoyable meal and a great evening out.

The Star Inn
29-31 High St, Burnham-on-CrouchLooking for somewhere to eat in Burnham and were tempted by the salads. Nice courtyard to sit in, plenty of shade on a hot and sunny day. Was quite busy. Many prohibitive signs like no bikes on the deck, children not allowed here, toilets only for use of customers, so overall impression was not of a friendly welcome. I enjoyed the smoked mackerel with chef's salad but will say that the salad was just a collection of salad leaves, tomato and cucumber slices - no tasty dressing.
