The worst fish and chips we have ever had, went to burham to have fish and chips at the jolly fryer unfortunately it was shut. So gave sauda village other try. Never again the chips were black the sausages were tasteless and dry. Fish was dripping in oil. The table outside was filthy had to clean it ourselves. I don’t know how they got a 5 rating from EHO

Why dosnt this shop take card payments? Surely no legit retailer can do business this way. They certainly lost my business today. I went down to The Jolly Fryer, and my goodness, the chips were gorgeous, and the chicken and mushroom pie wasn't bad. Only went to Sauda Village cos its the first one along the High Street. Won't be going back tho', even if I've got cash on me. Something suspect about a business not taking card payments is my opinion. I will be telling everyone about the quality and value for money from The Jolly Fryer I found today. Thank you.

Food was good but pre ordered by phone because I was short of time but when I went to collect they had not started cooking it and told me they don't get phone orders ready for collection, so why take phone orders in the first place?

The Cod and Chips were very tasty. They were cooked fresh and the batter was nice and crispy.Only negative is they only take cash so make sure you bring some with you! Would definitely come back. :)

Friendly staff though and open on a Monday however food not great, small fish portions camouflaged in batter, dripping with grease and highly priced. Facilities in need of a clean and a decoration. Disappointing
I do regularly go here and has never been an issue quality wise. Friendly staff. Now you can order and pay online which makes life much simpler. . I used to always go to Jolly Fryer but I kinda got a bit bored of the food only really tasting of the fat they use.

Cold sausage, cold savaloy pancakeroll filled with mush, chips sogy. Haven't been to burnham on crouch before but if this is the best you have, close it down and start again, utter rubbish. There is a reason this place only accepts cash.

We popped in to get a takeaway fish and chips lunch, having not been here for ages. It hasn't improved. The batter was soggy (and rather oily) and the chips were only just cooked. Sadly even the mushy peas were watery. What a pity they can't take the time to learn how to fry properly as I guess this could be a popular place if they did. The price was about average for fish and chips these days and the service quick enough.
