Room, food and staff are fantastic. I would give 5 stars for all but there was one issue that meant I did not get a great night's sleep: the light on the fire exit is really bright and lights the entire room up.

A bit of a disappointment, I'm afraid. Having pre-booked a table for 4 people, on arrival, the first comment we received was that we only had the table for two hours. Well, on the surface, that might seem reasonable, but it's hardly a welcome, and we felt like we were imposing on them by being there. So we settled into our seats and after some while our drinks order was taken. I asked what alcohol free beer they had to choose from. It turned out they had just one alcohol free lager. Really??? We then waited a full 30 minutes to receive the 1st course of our meal. I have no idea why it took so long, and no explanation or update was given. They cleared away the 1st course dishes, and believe me, we waited another full 30 minutes for our main courses. They must have a timer in the kitchen that has to be obeyed! So in all, we spent over an hour of our 2 hour table allocation waiting for something to eat! After the main course, 2 of us wanted a sweet. My friend asked for ice cream, which was on the menu, but as an accompaniment. That evidently couldn't be provided because they didn't have enough. Really, none in the freezer ???? On the good side, the place is pleasant and clean. The food was good, nothing special, but certainly OK, which is why I have awarded 3 stars. But this place could easily be a 5 star location. It just needs to understand better how to treat customers. We were surprised at our experience because other reviews were positive.

Originally, I thought this was a OK pub , but I have to say apart from little molly the staff are so so miserable, visit this place after work with mates from work but both me and the worm said won't be putting our cash behind bar again.

We had a very nice meal here. Two of our company were delayed but the staff were very helpful and we had a nice time when they finally arrived.Walkability: This is located across the road from the pretty Georgian quay. The river is interesting and there are few shopsnearby.Food & drinks: The food was very nice, the meals a bit large, but reasonably priced.

We went for a drink in this charming pub. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The latte was delicious and we've booked our family Christmas dinner here, bringing our own christmassy stuff, which they are quite happy with.

Didn't stay at the hotel, however did eat in the restaurant. Really decent gastro pub. Has Mac n cheese croquet for starter, which was a decent portion and tasted great. Main was braised beef short rib with mash, which was excellent. Just what was needed after day cold day sailing. Pud was pear tart tatine also really nice.Would recommend it and come back.

This is the second visit to the Ship Inn and once again had excellent food. It was quiet on the Tuesday lunch time and the service was great. The prior visit was an evening dinner and the food was excellent and service great on that occasion as well. Would thoroughly recommend and will be going back.

We were a party of 6 and was in the area and wanted food, we came across this place as everything else was closed (3pm). We had 3 courses and drinks, the food is a little pricey but there is a lot of it and you fill full up after the starter and main, but still a little room to squeeze a pudding in. We enjoyed this experience so much that we decided to go back for a Christmas meal on the 20th December. Well worth a visit to this pub and there are rooms to stay

We have eaten here every year since it reopened. Saturday my partner and I went for dinner and we both had ribeye, unfortunately mine was so chewie I couldn't eat it I ended up having to remove it from my mouth put it on my plate. The manager asked me if everything was to my liking which I replied no, she apologised and said we didn't have to pay for 2 drinks, I wasn't to pleased as taking the drinks off the bill worth around £12 and having to pay full price for the steak priced at over£30 which I couldn't eat doesn't seem right to me. I asked to see the owner but was told it was her night off. We left very disappointed.
