Came to Omar’s tonight on an off chance, read the reviews and they seemed very good so thought it was worth a try!!We WONT BE BACK, Food was really average, they must pay people to write these good reviews or there locals supporting a local business ?? as people tend to do,Waited over an hour for starters which I asked for really spicy and was told NO can’t do spicy as it’s already pre maid, ok so add some chilli powder!!After another half hour the mains appeared, after having to ask where they were again, mains were no better, microwaved food that appeared, freshly cooked food does not steam for ages,Naga was about madras hot, the owner the brought me a second one which was supposed to be even hotter, it was again microwaved and it was not hotter it was even milder, maybe they meant temperature was hotter ??POOR RESTAURANT, don’t even sell alcohol you have to go buy it over the roadI know Indian restaurants, THIS PLACE AIN’T WORTH A VISIT, THE LOCALS OBVIOUSLY LOVE IT AS ITS THE ONLY INDIAN,Don’t trust the locals reviews go to a decent Indian

Came to Omars this evening and we had the delightful Mahmoun waiting on us. I came a long time ago and the food is still just as good ? Staff are lovely and friendly and you can bring your own alcohol, as they don’t serve it. Small and intimate venue, well worth the visit.

This was our first time at Omar’s in Hatfield Peverel and everything was just perfect! Very friendly staff , food was hot and tasty and came out at just the right time. Cannot fault anything, it’s worth it if you want a good curry. Will re-visit for a mid week lunch. ☀️?

The team is so helpful and friendly. It has a really nice family feel and the food is second to none. Omar’s is such a good find, and being able to bring outside drinks in really helps keep the cost of an evening down. I would go as far as to say it’s the best Indian I’ve ever had and I’ve had manyVegetarian options: They are more than happy to accommodate for all dietary requirements

Great food perfectly cooked. The staff are so friendly and they take the time to chat ask how the meal is etc. I have been there many times and always welcome. They dont sell alcohol but you can bring your own and no need to pay the crazy restaurant mark ups. Looking forward in our next visit

Was looking at their menu. I dislike seafood and not a great lover of chicken. This take away did beef Madras! Who offers beef Madras ? They also do beef vindaloo! Never seen this before! Order was ready for collection after just 20 minutes. Great food and very generous portions too. I needed to leave some for the next day as two meals it made for me. Will now need to try the beef vindaloo next time.
