The order arrived half an hour later than originally told, with one portion of plain garlic bread instead of 3x cheesy, they did send out the right stuff when I rang them but it then had to be eaten separately from the pizza which wasn't really the idea.

Food was good but that's where it ends. In the last three visits here they have never had thousand islands dressing. Is that a supplier issue or incompetence. The waitresses and manager do not know how to carry a smile at all. Uniform was a mess and staff looking at mobile phones behind bar. Manager is like a robot with a welcome of hi guys you okay, then walks around like someone had nicked her last pound. I will score 2 as only the food scored in my eyes but overall piss poor.. Appalling service !!!

Just when we are happy that this place is maintaining a good standard of service, food, they are profitable, Ect. Pizza Hur decide to close it. The closest to chelmsford now is MILES away. Shortsighted planning.

The food was only just hot and a lack of toppings and a very slow service and will not be going back to this restaurant shame as this use to be one of your best restaurant

Norm my favourite pizza hut. However it seems to be dropping standards. Very dusty, my pizza was more grease than pizza and my partner's cookie dough and ice cream took over 20 min. We were that bored we checked. However not all bad I assume it to be the manager saw a mum walk in with a cake for a bday meal/party and rushed over to see if he could help. He dimmed the lights, played the music set the candles on the cake. He was a good bloke to them.

Good food, staff friendly. Tables well cleaned down. But the view would have taken seconds to tidy up. Wonder what the establishment is like behind the scenes?

Picked up a takeaway pizza, staff all nice and friendly but not one of them were wearing a mask when it’s supposed to be mandatory in hospitality.

My Mum and I visited this Pizza Hut tonight, Monday 20 December, at around 6pm. My Mum had been many times before and always loved the food and service, but tonight was the complete opposite. To start with, absolutely none of the staff had masks on, including the chefs. I wouldn’t mind so much, but given the current climate, multiple people breathing over your food isn’t ideal. The waitresses were bored and disinterested and coldly told us that they had run out of chips already, which was strange for peak time on a Monday. All food had to be ordered through the app which was clunky and two pizzas, two sides and two soft drinks came to over £45. I understand that hospitality aren’t obliged to ask customers to wear their masks (with the majority of diners not bothering) but two teenage girls were using their hands to pick up bits from the salad bar, putting items in their mouth and re-touching items, and no one warned them off or asked them to stop. The ice machine had a sign asking customers to sanitise between using the drinks machines but no sanitiser was supplied. The pizza itself was good and well cooked, it was just off putting watching the chef with no gloves, mask or hair net handle the food. Staff were attentive in that they were good at clearing tables but otherwise they stayed huddled behind the bar gossiping and only talking to customers if they approached them. Overall, the experience was disappointing and we won’t be back.

Good service, simple quick ordering, salad bar and pizza plus sides, bottomless Pepsi ( diet) all adds up to us having a great time. Would be 5 but for the simple fact I didn't like the festive pizza- food envy costs a star- well done

Good vegan options. Lovely vegan stuffed crust and good topping options. Have always liked their salad bar.

Much quieter and nicer on a weekday. We both had the lunchtime buffet. £8.99.Good selection of various pizzas, pasta and salad.Server did offer online ordering and payment which we declined. Why on earth would we want that when we are in the restaurant? It must be to reduce staff. There was only one lady who seemed to be serving. She said she does an 11 hour shift...But she was efficient, helpful and friendly.

Absolutely lovely staff, very helpful and friendly. Food was fresh and hot. Thank you for the lovely experience you gave my little one. She loved the colouring book supplied by you guys. Once again thank you.

Good food, great service - a shame its gone a bit American diner in decor etc. but at least the herbs have been toned down in the sauce now.

Perhaps going for a buffet lunch during the school holidays was a bad idea. The restaurant is set away from the rest of the retail outlets in Chelmer Village. It has its own car parks and there is the main car park. The restaurant is all on one floor and access for wheelchair users. The turnaround for the buffet was inadequate, the pasta ran out and wasn't replaced and the tables were very slow to be cleaned. I put this down to lack of staff rather than them lacking motivation etc, the restaurant has a large "recruiting now" A board outside. I would have to criticise the staff cooking pizza and pasta, during a 1 hour+ visit I was only able to get 1 spoonful of pasta. Marked down for the reasons stated. Front of house staff were in no way at fault, understaffed and trying to take orders, clean, seat people and wait tables. My first experience of any kind with Pizza Hut in over 10 years. I would have gone to my local in Braintree but that seems to have been demolished!
