We hosted our engagement party at Slug & Lettuce in Chelmsford and it was the perfect venue.We had exclusive use of the whole upstairs bar, and children were welcome too on a Sunday afternoon which was perfect.The food was great and pre-ordered drinks meant we could relax and spend time with our guests.The whole team were extremely helpful and knowledgeable from our first visit to see the space, through to the day itself.Would recommend this venue to everyone.Kid-friendliness: Children were permitted at our event which was on a Sunday afternoonWheelchair accessibility: No wheelchair access to the upstairs bar

Shocking!We made a reservation for mother's day for my mum, grandmother, two sisters and 4 year old nephew. When we arrived they informed us the power in the kitchen had gone but it may come back on soon. They showed us to our table and left.We waited and waited for 40 minutes with no one coming over to tell us what was going on or even take our drinks order.Eventually I decided to go to the bar to order drinks and see what was going on with the kitchen.I was greeted with no customer care or manners as my drinks order was taken and I was informed bluntly that there would be no power in the kitchen for the rest of the day with no explanation.The drinks were brought over to the table after another 20 minute wait, they were wrong and served with so much attitude , when we asked if we would have any sort of apology for the inconvenience the servers reply was 'that's not my problem'.I requested to speak to a manager and no one came to speak to me about this matter.I will not be returning. Cannot believe how rude everyone was.Thank you for ruining mothers day.
