Not impressed at all... I ordered poppadoms, vegetable samosa, chicken tikka biryani.The food was really bland, the chicken tikka biryani had sliced lettuce on top which was going brown and pretty much past its cell by date, there was no flavour at all to any of the dishes except the vegetable curry which was OK.I have tried authentic biryani so I somewhat know what am I talking about.The portion sizes were good, but without flavour it's disappointing, won't be going back here again especially as it wasn't cheap costing £20 for one person.

One of the best indians in the area and lovely staff. I've had a lot of Indians along Brick Lane and East London and this is up there; if not better. There's some terrible reviews here and I don't understand why. I've been eating here for over 20 years. Not once has the food been unsatisfactory. The only issue is no Phaal but the Vindaloo is banging. To the person complaining about it not being vegan; why write a 1 star review? Do you do that at an Argentinian steakhouse?

I’ve been using Suraya for a while and they are always consistently good food. I ordered two starters for myself which were quite large. The food is fresh and flavourful. Delivered very quickly.

First time of using last night and having been disappointed by most sit down Indian restaurants in Chelmsford I am pleased to find a takeaway that beat all those restaurants hands down. Very happy and only a 2 minute walk away. Efficient service and lovely food

Having moved back to Chelmsford after a 20 year gap I have found myself disappointed by most sit down Indian restaurants in Chelmsford. Using this takeaway for the first time last night and finding the food easily better than every Indian restaurant I’ve been to in town I’m very happy. The hatch to the kitchen is open so you can see the food being cooked, nice efficient young man taking the orders.

No vegan options at all. I called to enquire about their vegan options and they said no options were vegan. I asked if that also included their veggie options and they said yes. Again I tried to clarify that every single dish had milk or egg or butter in them and they said yes. Honestly has blown my mind. Just to warn fellow vegans

tikka massalas with zero taste.... nothing, wouldn't have known I was eating from a Indian. I can cook better on a week night with no experience in the Indian cuisine. Meat chewy to top it all off. pros... least the poppadom was nice.
