A man was sat on the bench outside minding his own business when and lady came out rudely when opening up to get him to move, no harm in being polite. Was witnessed by a lot of potential customers outside.

One of the best selection of beers, nice staff. Very welcoming and friendly. Will be back.

An absolute amazing experience. The staff is very pleasant and knowledgeable about the beer served. I have asked for a bubble beer and that exactly what i asked. Highly recommend, will definitely be back☺️

Always a great pint. Doesn't serve food but you can bring in a takeaway from the numerous outlets nearby.

UPDATEReturned tonight. Tried all their porters, with friendly helpful guidance from staff. All excellent, as other reviews will confirm.I mean it's not for you if you're looking to dance, do karaoke or get laid. But the ale is exceptional.Visited last night - Saturday night. Was popular but not overcrowded.Seating available.Plenty of staff on hand to serve.Great range of beers (and other drinks).Convenient central location. What's not to like?

great selection of pints, average price and nice building. bartenders were unwelcoming and rude however. Will come back when the staff learn how to be friendly and polite.

Great selection of drinks. Quiz night on the first Sunday of the month is well worth signing up for. Plenty of seats inside and out.

Best real ale range in Chelmsford without doubt. Always nine well kept cask beers on. Lovely setting in the railway arches. They do a good wine range too (which keeps the wife happy!). No food but you can bring in take away.

Beautiful place, occupying a couple of railway arches, a minutes walk from the station. Specialising in craft ales. Their is also a good selection of cask ales. The walls are decorated with old pump clips, and craft cans. A small outside area is available out the back.

I always get good service at alehouse. I'm not a massive drinker but my friends are impressed by the drinks selection. I like the atmosphere of the place and it's pretty chilled out. Great if you want to enjoy your drink and hear what people are saying!

Popped in for a drink before and after a bottomless brunch. Lovely selection of Ales, nice atmosphere. We sat outside and a bird pooped in the guys beer on the next table, he had half a pint left and a glass covered in poop and they wouldn't pour him another half pint. Felt abit mean and short sighted on their behalf.
