Small traditional pub, one small bar (which for bizarre reason most of customers use that door) makes it very uncomfortable. And a (Larger) bar that can accommodate with more comfort.Although certain types traverse from to exit via small bar to smoking area.Almost £5 a pint (Ale) though (jan 2024)No parking and difficult to park locally although this is location and not pubs fault.Dogs allowed.

We love this little traditional pub in Writtle. Unfortunately though they have stopped providing lunches, hasn't stopped us popping in occasionally for a good selection of ales and friendly service.

Fantastically cosy pub with nice range of real ales, expanded outdoor seating, and great service. I'm told the food is awesome, especially the traditional English breakfasts. Also an amazing atmosphere with the friendly locals on live music nights.
