This afternoon was the first time I had been to Turquoise Kitchen in Chelmsford, and I will most definitely return. All of the food was delicious and at the table in no time at all. The resraurant itself has such a calm and inviting atmosphere throughout. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble, especially for Oljay who was incredibly attentive. Would highly recommend you book a table and support the service Oljay and his team are providing. Thanks for a great experience.

I visited here many times with my wife and most recently with my entire family. Every time we come here we're always made to feel so welcome and the food is just out of this world. Personally I absolutely love the decor including the bathrooms makes you feel very fancy when going about your business! Big thank you to Oljay who always makes sure we are looked after and I recommend he makes you A traditional Turkish coffee at the end of your meal they are crazy good! Thank you again turquoise kitchen and the one and only Oljay, see you again soon.

Booked a table for 8.30pm which was fine. Once we arrived to the restaurant and sat down we were immediately told the kitchen closes at 9pm. Which was fine if we were told if this beforehand when booking which did not happen. The food was nice. When we finished our food and the table was cleared the bill was brought to us without asking and told ‘here’s the bill when you’re ready to pay’. We just paid and left as we felt like we were just being kicked out. We were told the kitchen closes at 9pm not the restaurant so not sure why the bill was brought without asking. Overall piece of advice to the staff if someone is booking over the phone a week in advance at 8.30pm mention that the kitchen closes at 9pm instead of taking the booking them on arrival telling how the kitchen will close.

Visited the restaurant with a few friends for dinner.I’ll jump straight into the food quality and the service provided. The first server was quite interactive in trying to help out with the dishes on the menu, but when asked for clarification on what some of the dishes were, it really included reading aloud out the description provided on the menu. The mains were preceded by some hummus and khubz which was good. When more was requested it never materialised. The main dish that I ordered was a variety of mutton stew (Hunkar begendi). Upon arrival it had an enticing aroma, but the taste did not in any way match the aroma. The mutton was soft and well cooked, though absolutely flavourless in terms of seasoning and spices. The eating of this dish became more of a mundane affair, slowly downing it for the money paid and not for the bland taste that it offered.Post meal multiple requests to get water, and an extra glass fell on deaf ears, with active avoidance by some of the waiters. It took more than 20 minutes to get a glass of water! Pitiful! In terms of food the service and taste was dismal, with similar sentiments being shared by the majority of our group.Would not be my first choice to consider for a quality dinner.

We were looking around Chelmsford for a place to have lunch, and where we could sit down, with a comfortable atmosphere, but there don't seem to be that many options, or maybe we were looking in the wrong locations? As we walked past the Turquoise we noticed the poster for the £15 (per person) lunch menu and decided that it seemed like a good deal. First impressions when we walked in were very good as it has a laid back and cozy atmosphere, with velvet seating and pretty looking lights and you're greeted with some laid back lounge music as well as a member of staff. It was raining outside and the floor is very shiny, so I nearly slipped, so I think that it might be a good idea to get a bigger rug for the entrance area. The lunch menu seemed to offer a good choice, so we ordered Borek rolls with feta cheese, mushrooms with a garlic cream sauce as a starter, and moussaka and a chicken shish as a main. The borek rolls were a little bit soft and could've probably been a bit crispier and the side salad was a little dissapointing too, and no vinaigrette, but the rolls tasted really nice anyway and we were impressed by the sweet chili sauce that came with the borek rolls, as it was really nicely sweet but also had an extra chili kick to it, but the star of the show were definitely the creamy mushrooms. Really delicious sauce and it might be tough to recreate but we'll give it a try : )We then had the main dishes and it looked very appealing at first glance, I was only disappointed that I didn't check if there was an option where you could choose your sides, as I received Couscous, which I'm actually not a big fan of. So I suppose, it's probably best for everyone to check what the side dish is to the shish. But anyway, the chicken was very nice and tender and the moussaka tasted really nice and freshly made as well. I'm not sure if it was, but you can tell that it had proper minced beef in it. The portion sizes were adequate, and we were told that the portions are bigger if you order from the main menu, but to be honest, I don't think the portions need to be any bigger. The service was also excellent and friendly and we promised to mention our new friend Ismail from Turkmenistan, who certainly is an amazing asset to the team and restaurant ; ) But seriously, it was a really nice stay and very friendly staff at the Turquoise and the overall experience was very laid back, nice lounge music, good relaxed atmosphere and great food. What more can you ask for. The price for the meal was also good value for money, maybe with a slightly updated salad option, but I guess it's often just garnish anyway. This and the slightly less crispy borek led me to only giving four stars instead of five for the food. But yes, overall we really enjoyed it.

Took my wife here tonight for our first date night in ages! 2 things I hate when I go to a restaurant are not being asked what we want to drink when we're seated and gratuity being added to the bill! The second we were seated our waiter took our drinks order, and I spotted straight away that gratuity was not added to the bill. Anyway... service was superb, all the staff were ultra friendly. The food was superb. The restaurant looks amazing. The stairs leading up to the toilets....! And the toilets.....! Great night, great restaurant, great staff, great food! Will definitely be going back here!

Booked table for four, staff were very friendly from start to finish, especially Oljay and Ecem was made this day very special for us, as a Turkish person I am very picky with my Turkish food choices, we did ordered mix plate of hot and cold meze for starters and main course mixed grill, 2 bottle of red, beer, soft drinks and Turkish tea for the end. Of course little surprise for our friends birthday arranged by staff, birthday chocolate hazelnut cake with ice cream, it was adorably testy (I could have this anytime of the day), meal was absolutely superb, different selection of starters are fresh and delicious, main course chicken and shish lamb, drizzle lamb chops and Adana came just to perfect for my test, mmm yummy ?, over all bill come without service charge we added for fabulous service.we had absolutely beautiful memorable day to remember and I would love to say thank you to all floor and kitchen staff to making our day very special. ??Vegetarian options: Clearly labelled Vegetarian options.Parking: Friend parked for whole afternoon but we went there by train, I believe plenty parking spaces.Kid-friendliness: Seen same time family dinners as little as approximately 8 months old babies
