Love this place. New management really made a difference. Food is spot on. Would highly recommend ?

Wheatsheaf were amazing catering for a large group of about 40 people! The weeks leading up to the day were communicated well by Paul. He had the great idea for all to preorder so that on the day, food could be made and delivered without much confusion. All my guests were amazed with the organisation. I will say, understandably with such a large group it will mean that some will get their food later than others which was also made known to me beforehand. Great big thanks to the team behind the scenes and front of house also. And of course the food was delicious! I would say to get loaded fries as a side rather than a main since the portion wasn’t filling on its own. Delicious nonetheless.Vegetarian options: Great catering for vegetarians and vegans also!

Great venue. Visited for the football mid week, Paul was a great host, very excited for his new TV setup? ?which was fantastic, by the way! Drinks offers were great, bottled beers and shots. I couldn't complain about the nachos, either, just enough for the game! All in all, I will definitely be back soon for the next instalment of the Champions League ?

Specifically came here to play pool as not many places in Chelmsford where the pubs have pool tables. 2 pool tables here, one English and one American. Both take credit card and it’s £1:50 per game

A chilled out local, not far from the city centre, no ales on offer, but a decent lager line up. Understated decor, tastefully implemented

Fab evening here Saturday! Had a meet up with old friends. Great place to meet, it's basically 3 bars, all different. Something for everyone and very Friendly!Lots of people here, it was buzzing and lovely atmosphere. All the Staff are very attentative and the Landlady and Landlord are terrific. They do good food here and it's a great location , right next to the Railway Station and a short walk from the Bus Station and the centre of Town.

Purchased a pint and asked if I could connect to the wifi. I was told I needed an iCloud account?! I said I didn't have one. I saw there was an _cloud wifi but when I tried to connect it asserted I needed a UK phone number and postcode. If you're from outside the UK avoid this place. The Plough will better serve you.
Good pub lots of room out the back with 3 pool tables free on a Sunday

Been here a few times over the years. Always good in every respect, (which in itself makes it great), but never stand out in anything until...Last weekend ate in there to start a night out. I had one of the world cup burger specials (French one - before the quarters were known!). Two friends both had standard menu cheese and bacon burger. All 3 of us agreed was delicious burgers and all left very happy, (and full! it does say on menu but one of them didn't realise they were double burgers).Definitely 5* food, and even though my first visit to bar took far too long to be served, rest of service was good too.4* normally, but that burger gives them full marks. Next time I'm in area will be trying again - really hope want a one-off and have to change this review

This is a busy popular town centre pub. Town centre prices but good atmoshphere 4 pool tables , music , outside seating, food is basic but well up to standard. Busy on football days as it should be.
