Amazing pub, We booked for our annual family Christmas meal 20+ of us including children. The owners and staff could not do more for you, the food and service was amazing. We have an individual who is gluten free and another vegetarian who they happily catered. Even offered food not being served that day. I can’t thank you all enough for a lovely day and being able to relax and enjoy our meals.

We ate here before going on the Christmas train at Ongar. Had a lovely meal, two of us had scampi and chips and two had pie n mash, all very nice, well cooked and nice and hot. Lovely proper pub with proper no nonsense pub food. Owners were very friendly and chatting. Will definitely visit again.

A really welcoming, friendly pub with a roaring real fire and a personable welcome. The team went above and beyond to accommodate us (4 adults, 2 toddlers and a dog) the food was excellent and it was a lovely atmosphere. Would highly recommend.

I must say, I was thoroughly impressed by the exceptional quality of the food and the outstanding customer service at this pub. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction and actively sought feedback from us.The food was simply exceptional. Each dish was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. My personal favourite was the chilli which was absolutely excellent. The menu also offers mouthwatering desserts such as baked cheese cake, sticky toffee pudding and apple & pear crumble which we had the pleasure of trying. The crumble was delectable.Without a doubt, I highly recommend this pub/restaurant. The combination of excellent food, superb service, and delightful ambiance make it a must-visit establishment, and dog friendly, Ruby out Jack Russell got treats and water and lots of fuss.
Lured in from passing beforehand by the kids playground we thought we would give this pub a go as it would occupy my 3 1/2 year old. SO GLAD we stopped in! What a fantastic pub. Food absolutely delicious & staff warm & friendly. Portions size was huge & we could tell it was fresh. Smothered chicken had plenty of bbq sauce & cheese. My husbands Stag Burger was delicious aswell! Very impressed. We will be back

Great country pub ,huge back garden and well equipped play park,music sometimes,, marquee for hire ,great home cooked food,pie n mash Thursday ?,quiz nights in aid of local charities,friendly staff,lots of parking.Parking: Lots of parking in pub grounds.

We've been here twice and had a meal totally fantastic food friendly staff fantastic atmosphere in all 100% excellent, returned Friday after work Chris and the team very welcoming, food fantastic big portions and fat chips, 5 star's isn't enough highly recommended
