Upon arrival staff enquired if there were any allergies to be notified of. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great customer service, nothing too much trouble for them. Menu choices and food portions are plentiful.

Went for carvery yesterday with family, food was lovely, service a bit slow, not very friendly/ attentive, half way through our meal we had to ask where our drinks had got to, desserts (sundae) all choc sauce and not alot else, frozen strawberry yogurt turned out to be vanilla ice cream & the actual restaurant floor was littered with serviettes, waiting staff/ diners just walked passed them, definitely gone down hill in my eyes.

Was able to get seated straight away, without a booking. Lovely place for a catch up with friends. Good choice on the menu with an atmosphere that's ideal to sit and chat. Plenty of parking available too.

Very impressed Sunday dinner on mother's day ? place was extremely busy but the gentleman serving was very efficient & served us in a timely manner & was working very hard. Very enjoyable carvery and hubby enjoyed his mixed grill ?

Disgusted. The place is filthy. Bins full. On parking in car park bins over-flowing , one bin had a dirty nappy hanging out of it. Got fed up waiting to get a cup of tea. Went elsewhere. I think if they don't buck up there ideas up the bowling Green should be closed. Oh. Toilets were over-flowing. Lack of cleaning. Perhaps employ more staff!!! Wish I'd taken photo now but as I said went elsewhere.

The best I can say is that it was hot. Unlike our dining companions behind us, who sent theirs back because it was cold, only to have it zapped in the microwave...apparently it's what the waitress thought he wanted and the elder waitress joked that you needed a microwave diploma to work there. The chef was apparently and I quote 'having a bad day, we all have them.' So we were really apprehensive about the food we'd ordered. It was 8.15pm, but service should be good regardless of time of day. The actual restuarant was tired, untidy and needed a good clean. I went safe with scampi and chips. Scampi should be a lovely golden colour. Lets just say it looked burnt...possibly double cooked or warmed up. The chips didn't fair any better. My husband had lasagna which was hot, the garlic bread luke warm, which is what the other customer had complained about. Two pots of tea completed our order. It was at best luke warm and the worst tea I've had for some time. Why didn't we complain? We couldn't be bothered with the hassle. We'd had a very long hard day ready for sleep. All we wanted was a hot meal. We'd already gone to our first choice, but they didn't serve food on a Monday. Absolutely exhausted, we tried the Bowling Green, never used before - and we won't be using it again.
