The food is consistently amazing – the quality of the meat is honestly some of the best we’ve had, perfectly cooked and full of flavour every time. Every dish we’ve tried has been lovely, you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.
It’s perfect whether you’re going for a meal for two or with a large group, and works just as well for an early lunch as it does for dinner. The atmosphere in the evenings is so much fun too.
The staff are always friendly and welcoming, which makes it even better. Easily the best restaurant in Clacton – highly recommend!

70 Ravensdale, Great Clacton, Clacton-on-SeaMy first surprise at Skinners was discovering they cook in beef dripping, my favourite medium. The second was biting into the best chips I’ve had across 150 fish and chip shop reviews; they were incredible. The large cod lived up to its name, wrapped in crisp, flavoursome batter, while the mushy peas were spot on, thick enough for the fork yet smooth enough to mingle with the fish and chips.
The staff were smartly presented, polite, and full of smiles, and the shop itself was spotless, tidy, and well designed. All in all, I’ll be back.

Essex, 211 London Rd, Clacton-on-SeaPartner had the pizza and loved it! Such generous helpings of toppings and plenty of extra flavour with the smothering of garlic oil!
I had the Hunters Chicken Schnitzel and it was just lovely. Son loved his veggie sticks and hummus! Another really good sized portion and variety of veg for such a cheap kids starter.
Fries were so crispy as usual which is hugely important for me! Mac N Cheese although pricey was a great size.
Conclusion, atmosphere and location are so beautiful and although it's more expensive you do get what you pay for! Food is real high restaurant quality.

When placed order through just eat noticed online it mentioned they was shut even though order confirmed. After phoning up to confirm is order was still all good a lovely guy had answered the phone and he’s telephone communication was so polite. Food didn’t take long to come at all and everything tasted lovely no issues! I definitely will be ordering sometime again soon.

Would highly recommend for food and service.

Great chicken pakora, tandoori chicken, rice, veggie masala and naan bread. We also asked to book a taxi back to our caravan park and as there was a delay the manager offered to drive us back. Amazing customer service. Great value for money. Highly recommended and we will eat here again next time we are in Clacton.

Totally awesome taste, portions are more than adequate, prices are reasonable, we actually had enough for a second go the next day. I would wholeheartedly recommend this great little restaurant either to eat in or takeaway. He asked the order and then went out back but never came back the food appeared a few minutes later so maybe he chased it up but he clearly has had no customer service training as he never did appear back on the shop floor. Fries were hot though. Which is unusual.

Thorpe Rd, Weeley, Clacton-on-SeaWe came as a table of two for lunch today. The welcome on arrival was very friendly and we were shown to our table by another member of staff, again very friendly and welcoming.
The menu choices were very good. We both opted for the roasts, one beef one pork. Food presentation was excellent and the quality and taste of it all was simply perfect.
We were looked after really well by various members of staff who were all so friendly.
No desserts, which was a tough decision as the choice was exceptional! Just ordered cheese and biscuits which did not disappoint... lovely choice of cheeses and pickles.
We will certainly be back!

The Fish Inn
409 St John's Rd, Clacton-on-SeaWas fishing at a local lake with a group of 8. We were told this place delivered right up to the lake so we placed an order in the afternoon for delivery later on in the evening.
The order platform was quick, easy and efficient, a good email receipt was received and delivery was spot on, arrived on time and the delivery driver called me as soon as they arrived.
Food arrived well packed and still hot. Only slight negative was that I could not really taste any vinegar on the chips, and I like a lot of it, so next time on the notes section I’ll ensure I asked for super soaking of vinegar ??

23 Pallister Rd, Clacton-on-SeaDavey's was a recommendation to me and I'm so glad I took it up, the restaurant wasnt even half full but there was a lovely atmosphere, it was a proper local restaurant where people knew eachother and chatted freely.
We arrived about 11, found a table and looked at the menu, it's was breakfast for us, I had the English style breakfast with bubble and squeak with added toast with extra tinned tomatoes, my favourite! I haven't had bubble and squeak in years! My wife had Eggs Benedict.
Both came out pretty quickly, cooked fresh and steaming hot, the butter hadn't even full melted it was so fresh. It tasted great, was very filling and kept me full until dinner time.
With many cafes in Clacton, this place is a Gem! I'd recommend it to anyone and is somewhere I'd definitely come back on my next visit.

The Old Lifeboat House

Out of a good selection of ales, I was served a very decent pint of Abbot; it was a bit lively out of the pump, and took some time to pour, but the landlord was insistent on giving me a full pint; a true professional. After a gruelling 6 hour drive, I would have settled for less.
This struck me as a great, unpretentious, community pub of a good size. It's clearly very dog friendly; a French Bulldog and a magnificent, Irish Wolfhound were in residence; not at all spooked by each other.
Why doesn't Clacton have any other good alehouses close to the front? I arrived as the sun was going down, it was about 6° but left my sweater at my hotel, and didn't want to go exploring.

Clacton-on-SeaIf you’re anywhere near Clacton, you have to visit Rosie’s Kabin — it’s hands down the best spot for fresh, proper home-cooked food.
The full English breakfast is honestly the best I’ve ever had — perfectly cooked, top-quality ingredients, and so good we went back twice just for that alone. And then… the roast dinners. Absolutely out of this world. Everything is fresh, the portions are generous, and it’s that kind of comforting, homemade cooking that just hits the spot every time. And it is so reasonable! No wonder it’s always busy, but we’ve never had to wait too long for a table!
What really makes it though is the service — warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. You feel like a regular from the moment you walk in.
It’s now our go-to every single time we’re in the area — couldn’t recommend it more ?

24 Broadway, Jaywick, Clacton-on-SeaWow, what an unexpected pleasure, we stopped for one drink and didn't want to leave! Such a warm and friendly welcome, we couldn't have been more accommodated, an absolutely first class place and the Prosecco was served in the most wonderful flute, we will certainly be back, our only regret is that we were only passing by. This is highly recommended, one of the last proper pubs, we loved it, hopefully we can pop in next week as we are down this way. Wheelchair accessibility: There is level acces from the parking but the cafe is densly furnished with tables. I imagine they would find space if you wanted to get your wheelchair in.

We used the tablet to place our order , you need a table number,then the food if bought over in take away containers and wooden cutlery, not a big issue and probably works well for a busy place. Any criticism, the table unfortunately was a little sticky, but it didn't take away from the fresh fish ?? it also has tables outside, on the street.

I thought we were in a small Chinese restaurant which it sort of is. We both had the double breakfast and 2 teas we were pleasantly surprised!! No grease that’s a first.
Eggs looked very poached like not fried looking if you know what I mean? The lady who served us was amazing lovely girl. (She looked so young). Will definitely go back. And in the mean time tell everyone we know where to go.

Good, fairly thin cut chips which I like. Quick, friendly service. Well worth popping a couple of doors down to grab cash.

Station Kebabs
103 Station Rd, Clacton-on-SeaI had a mixed Doner kebab with cheesy chips, and I was genuinely so impressed. The quality of the food was outstanding the kebab was perfectly cooked, flavourful, and exactly as I requested with both chilli and garlic sauce. The cheesy chips were indulgent and delicious, complementing the kebab perfectly.
The service was equally amazing. The team followed my instructions to the letter, which made the experience even better. I could tell a lot of care went into preparing the meal. I will definitely be back, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for top-notch takeaway food with excellent service.

The food is consistently amazing – the quality of the meat is honestly some of the best we’ve had, perfectly cooked and full of flavour every time. Every dish we’ve tried has been lovely, you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.
It’s perfect whether you’re going for a meal for two or with a large group, and works just as well for an early lunch as it does for dinner. The atmosphere in the evenings is so much fun too.
The staff are always friendly and welcoming, which makes it even better. Easily the best restaurant in Clacton – highly recommend!

The Black Boy, Weeley
Thorpe Rd, Weeley, Clacton-on-SeaWe came as a table of two for lunch today. The welcome on arrival was very friendly and we were shown to our table by another member of staff, again very friendly and welcoming.
The menu choices were very good. We both opted for the roasts, one beef one pork. Food presentation was excellent and the quality and taste of it all was simply perfect.
We were looked after really well by various members of staff who were all so friendly.
No desserts, which was a tough decision as the choice was exceptional! Just ordered cheese and biscuits which did not disappoint... lovely choice of cheeses and pickles.
We will certainly be back!

23 Pallister Rd, Clacton-on-SeaDavey's was a recommendation to me and I'm so glad I took it up, the restaurant wasnt even half full but there was a lovely atmosphere, it was a proper local restaurant where people knew eachother and chatted freely.
We arrived about 11, found a table and looked at the menu, it's was breakfast for us, I had the English style breakfast with bubble and squeak with added toast with extra tinned tomatoes, my favourite! I haven't had bubble and squeak in years! My wife had Eggs Benedict.
Both came out pretty quickly, cooked fresh and steaming hot, the butter hadn't even full melted it was so fresh. It tasted great, was very filling and kept me full until dinner time.
With many cafes in Clacton, this place is a Gem! I'd recommend it to anyone and is somewhere I'd definitely come back on my next visit.

The Old Lifeboat House
39 Marine Parade E, Clacton-on-SeaIn my opinion, this is the best near- seafront bar in Clacton. Out of a good selection of ales, I was served a very decent pint of Abbot; it was a bit lively out of the pump, and took some time to pour, but the landlord was insistent on giving me a full pint; a true professional. After a gruelling 6 hour drive, I would have settled for less.
This struck me as a great, unpretentious, community pub of a good size. It's clearly very dog friendly; a French Bulldog and a magnificent, Irish Wolfhound were in residence; not at all spooked by each other.
Why doesn't Clacton have any other good alehouses close to the front? I arrived as the sun was going down, it was about 6° but left my sweater at my hotel, and didn't want to go exploring.

We ordered the jerk roast, the lamb roast and a child’s roast. which was all absolutely lovely, freshly cooked , full of flavour and a very large portions . We also tried eve trifles and the biscoff cheesecake. We left feeling very full and happy. Will definitely go back

The Warwick Arms
121 Pier Ave, Clacton-on-SeaThe Warwick Arms was an excellent choice for my dad and step mum’s wedding on Saturday 5th July 2025. The space accommodates around 60 guests comfortably, with room to dance! The co-owner, Harry, was excellent from the initial booking, to the numerous questions about decorations and schedule. I’m not sure when he sleeps! We arrived on the day to decorate, to find that he had already set up the tables, with table cloths, table runners, chair covers and he’d added all the chair sashes. He was approachable, friendly, helpful and proactive throughout. The food was amazing (the guests went mad over the mini burgers in particular) and there was plenty of it, for the size of the wedding party. The DJ kept the floor filled, adding his own little touches during the speeches and encouraging the guests to let their hair down on the dance floor. A random gate crasher was dealt with discreetly and calmly by staff. The atmosphere was relaxed, joyful and fun. Harry cleaned up the next morning, packing up anything the bride and groom were taking back home. I would recommend this pub to host an event, based on the staff alone, but it’s also a well-situated venue, close to accommodation and with adequate parking spaces on site. We all had a lovely time and look forward to popping in for drinks in the future!

the poor waitress was rushed off her feet with a smile at first but later came more servers and I couldnt thought it. The take away desert topped it off easter egg cheese cake mmm.
I also have a unique tasting grandchild who said the mash was the best mash he has ever had thats worth a visit in its self
good price for great food and service with a friendly smile and the people in thier were also very friendly

Clacton-on-SeaIf you’re anywhere near Clacton, you have to visit Rosie’s Kabin — it’s hands down the best spot for fresh, proper home-cooked food.
The full English breakfast is honestly the best I’ve ever had — perfectly cooked, top-quality ingredients, and so good we went back twice just for that alone. And then… the roast dinners. Absolutely out of this world. Everything is fresh, the portions are generous, and it’s that kind of comforting, homemade cooking that just hits the spot every time. And it is so reasonable! No wonder it’s always busy, but we’ve never had to wait too long for a table!
What really makes it though is the service — warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. You feel like a regular from the moment you walk in.
It’s now our go-to every single time we’re in the area — couldn’t recommend it more ?

Never Say Die Jaywick Public House
24 Broadway, Jaywick, Clacton-on-SeaWow, what an unexpected pleasure, we stopped for one drink and didn't want to leave! Such a warm and friendly welcome, we couldn't have been more accommodated, an absolutely first class place and the Prosecco was served in the most wonderful flute, we will certainly be back, our only regret is that we were only passing by. This is highly recommended, one of the last proper pubs, we loved it, hopefully we can pop in next week as we are down this way. Thank you so much to Davina and the other lovely lady and the gentleman who first showed us in x Jackie and the grumpy one!
