Cleanliness is certainly not the best at this branch. Stepped on poo in the unisex toilet. Yes, poo on the floor. Very unhygienic. Can see the whole shop hasn’t been cleaned properly too. Hope management sees this review and make some changes to improve overall cleanliness.

Had issues with this costa previously ..but was close by and needed a coffee went in to see 3 staff ..ok not over staffed but doable ..sadly it was a mess and i mean appalling...every empty table needed clearing and cleaning ..my husband cleared a table whilst i got the coffees ..whilst barista was pouring the flat white i commented on milk not being hot enough ..and reply was its standard temp if you wanted hotter should have ordered extra hot !!! I could see it wasnt hot enough as the flat white wasnt feathered at all.. even an untrained eye could see it...she obviously couldnt ..she put my drinks on tray and wrnt on to make next customers coffee . We drank our coffees in 3 mins flat ..firstly as just tepid secondly the place was dirty and a mess...not relaxing or enjoyable as one expects ..emailed costa ...got a generic email back giving me enough beans for a coffee..emailed back saying not acceptable explaining in more detail my concerns on cleanliness both sides of counter ...rude staff and poor quality drinks ...today i recieve another 10 beans onto my account for another coffee...no email to say what steps they are taking . One of them is to obviously not take the complaint seriously...disgusted with them will not be using the free coffees.. will not be using costa again until this is dealt with properly...the cleanliness on both sides of counter is serious hygiene issue ...wake up costa. You are getting complacent ...loyal customers are only loyal when brand maintains a standard that we pay highly for . Thankfully this isnt across majority of your stores but how youve dealt with it shows that you dont give a toss about customer satisfaction just profit...so for that reason I'M OUT !!!

Both members of staff were so unhelpful and completely dismissed us because their ice machine wasn’t working. No alternative was offered and there was zero attempt at being friendly or accommodating. Went to the Frinton branch and they were brilliant.

Thank you for your kindness lovely staffKid-friendliness: I would love to say thank you to the lovely ladies in Costa in Clacton-on-sea 50 pier avenues it was about 1ish. My daughter has really bad anxiety but she thought she would go in alone well I sat outside she was struggling and was stuttering the lovely women took her time and calmed her down she finally ordered and waited for our drinks. The lady in front of her was waiting for her cold drink our was done before hers then had ago at the lovely lady making the drinks then had ago at my daughter so she started having a panic attack and crying the lovely lady who was making our drink told her everything going to be okay then calm her down she finally stop shaking and carried our drinks out! I just want them to know I’m grateful for them being so nice to my daughter and calming her down.
