Went to Clacton on Sea for a night and visited the British Raj after reading some good reviews. The staff were friendly the food was delicious and plentiful and very reasonably priced I would highly recommend.

Worst I’ve ever had, the meat is dry and tough, soggy naan bread. the food overall is flavourless, runny and disgusting. Won’t be ordering from here again!!

Used this restaurant a few times of late and always been happy with the food tonight however found a large piece of plastic in the curry

Friendly polite staff and a bright clean environment.Food was well presented and very tasty. Onion bhajis were crispy and spiced just right.I would recommend a visit or a take away from here.

I'm rating this company a one star as you can't rate them a zero star ! I phoned to place an order then was passed over to another colleague to take a payment I got cut off with no phone call back , so decided to order from somewhere else , 25 minutes later I get a call back and I tell them I've ordered elsewhere and they got very angry over the phone and actually told me to get lost ! Very poor customer service I will not be using them again very disappointed !!

Delicious authentic food and happy to cook a dish that wasn't on the menu. Excellent, friendly service. Very good value.

We have been staying at Valley Farm Holiday park and decided we wanted an Indian meal off site. Not being from the area we did a trip advisor search and the number 1 was The British Raj. There was 9 of us altogether and I will be honest when we first approached the restaurant we was a bit put off by the appearance from the outside. We thought it looked just like a takeaway and thought for a second we had gone to the wrong place. Please please don't let this put you off!! Inside it is a restaurant and a fab one at that. The waiter and customer service was one of the best we have experienced in a long time. Nothing was too much trouble. We split the bill into 3 families and he was attentive to all of us equally. He really was a lovely guy. The food was beautiful and they adjusted dishes to suit our particular requests. We had different starters and we highly recommend the award winning onion bhaji's. We had curry's ranging from mild to burn your mouth off and all were equally delicious. Our youngest of the party.had chicken nuggets and chips and his plate was clear too. Portions were big and we all left full and very happy. The only negative is we are on holiday here so wouldn't be able to come again soon but its definitely top of the list when we return!!

We visited on Saturday evening and the restaurant was empty. One other couple came in but that was all Service was good and so was the food so cannot fault it on that. It does not serve alcohol but you can bring your own. We went to Aldi just up the road for a bottle of wine. Nice food but not a great atmosphere.

Horrendous service! Ordered and it took over 2 hours to arrive… order was wrong and food was cold!! I called to complain and was told that next time let them know and they’ll look after me… just called and was told they didn’t remember… even though I told them the time, date and order number through Uber eats!! Wouldn’t recommend these at all

Horrible Haunted history

Having been a customer before I thought I would give the ghurka another try after some very bad press last year. Quite frankly it was appalling. I ordered at 6.18pm and was told 1 hour. It arrived at 9pm from the restaurant which is less then half a mile from my house stone cold and inedible. The chicken was tough and like rubber, the portions tiny and I can say hand on heart that it was the worse service, food and after taste I have ever had to endure. I do not recommend and today they have lost another valued customer.

The waiters weren't very attentive - we had to ask to order our food and didn't get our hot drinks after our buffet meal. The food however was plentiful and very flavourful.
