We visited the Robin Hood for dinner after hearing good things from our friends. We was not disappointed! The food was fantastic and we were hosted by Ashley who did an amazing job making sure our evening was a great as it could be. We will be back in December when we were told you have a delicious festive menu starting.

V slow service, after sitting at table for over 20 mins. manage to attract a staff member to give our drinks and food order. Drinks took another 10 minutes to arrive the food was served to us 1 hour after we'd arrived. Had Sunday roast which at best was lukewarm and each plate had 8 potatoes with a few pieces of other veg.Have been to many other Vintage inns, this must surely be the worst

Waited 1hr for steak and chips only 3 couples in resturant , steak served stone cold. Advised waiter who took plate away and meat was reheated taking a medium rare to medium well , manager not interested food terrible. Frozen prawns no taste ,will dodge this place from now on .

Lived just a short walk from this pub for 7 years and never visited before this.Service was spot on, food was good and it was not too noisy, so it was perfect for a quiet family meal with the wife and toddler!Staff were super friendly and attentive, even made sure to interact with the little one, which was a nice touch. Our starters came quickly and we did not have to wait long for our mains, they were out within minutes our our table being cleared of the starters. We will definitely be visiting again, great place, with good food and a welcoming atmosphere that is just a short walk from home, winner, just gutted it has taken us 7 years to actually vist!

We booked table for four in bar area as our friends were staying in area with their dogs. Bar staff were great and took our order and allowed us to put drinks on our food tab. Unfortunately, the food was a disappointment. We ordered prawn cocktails to start which consisted of lots of lettuce leaves piled up, a few tiny slithers of tomato, prawns with a tangy sauce, which was not very nice and sourdough bread. We asked for butter and received one tiny portion which was just enough for one portion so we asked for more and had to ask again as it didn’t arrive. This delay meant we were still eating starter when mains arrived. Mains were ok but quite small portions. Front of house staff did a great job considering they were understaffed but the kitchen let them down. Not an experience to be repeated!

Visited for the first time during a mini break in Clacton and won’t be back. I echo all the other recent reviews, another table walked about whilst we were there. We waited 40 minutes for a drink, over an hour for the food and when it arrived it was really poor. Not enough staff and just completely hopeless and we paid over £70 for the pleasure - very poor value and not a great evening. Avoid at all costs.

Customer service was great. Jack and Alfonso in front of house was lovely and chefs Alan & Alfie were lovely too! Food was delicious, highly recommend. The atmosphere in the evening is very lovely and chilled

Arrived to have lunch and was greeted nicely by the guy behind the bar and seated promptly however from then on it was down hill. It took a while before our order was taken and once it was we were told after around 55 minutes that actually our order was not in the system. Some may ask why did you sit for that long well we saw there seemed to be only two members of staff serving and just thought they were a bit busy. However one of the female staff was talking (quite loudly I must add) for periods of time at another table. She may of noticed we hadn’t received our food if she was paying more attention to all us other customers. We were told they would start our food but by then then we were 55 minutes in and who knows how much longer it would be. I can understand things happen but it’s how professional and helpful you can be to solve a situation like this is what matters and I found her standoffish and unsympathetic. It’s a shame because you are under new management and this is our first impression of that. Hence my 1 star.

I took mum here for lunch on her birthday, overall disappointed first of all 'greeted' by a member of staff who just looked at us so I asked for a table for two, then asked if we could sit at a specific table, to which he replied abruptly 'no you may not' !! nice welcome. The food took a long time to come despite there only being two other people in the restaurant when we ordered. The food was quite nice but I had the kedgeree fishcakes which were nice but tiny and the serving of hollandaise sauce was practically non existent. Mum had the pie of the day the serving was a good size but the chicken was very dry. The first guy that served us also misquoted what was on the menu, but the second guy who actually took the order was very nice, friendly and helpful. I felt the prices were quite high for what we got too. So overall not great so won't be going back

Mediocre food with a lousy atmosphere. Beware not to fall into the same trap I did by downloading their app thinking you would get money off the bill, you don’t until 24hours has past.
