Our server was lovely, he made our dining experience a good one, I didn’t get the servers name but he had light coloured hair, gold earrings, dr marten boots and a charming demeanour. Food is what it is and for what you get it’s the perfect price. Hadn’t seen my mum for 2 years and she thoroughly enjoyed herself, so thank you very much.

Staff were friendly and efficient. Food was sub par on the day I visited. The meat was good and cooked properly but the potatoes were frankly horrible.

Firstly the waiter serving the meat was huffing and puffing complaining he obviously didn’t want to be there… at first everything was ok but once we sat to eat our meal the potatoes where seriously undercooked and rock hard. The piece of beef was very fatty and the batter of the Yorkshire pudding was still wet and slimy. Not edible. When we spoke to our waiter he was very rude and told us to simply go get some more potatoes. Then at the end dumped the bill on our table. Unfortunately we weren’t the only customers who weren’t happy with his rudeness. We paid for a roast dinner but only half was edible. We will not be returning

The restaurant seemed to hire out a part of the restaurant to celebrate their Birthday.They were playing extremely loud Music right next to us. The event organiser clearly had no consideration for the other customers and the restaurant manager doesn't seem to either.The waiting staff bizarrely sat us right next to the partition where the loud speaker was.We had no idea about this because the event wasn't running when we arrived. But 10mins in and boom! The deafening sound starts.Either hire out the whole restaurant or don't allow stupidly loud music

We prebooked our table stating we needed a highchair and space for a buggy (never a problem at colchester)On arrival the woman said she didn't know where to sit us to fit a highchair. Then preceded to seat us where I had to try and manoeuvre my buggy between tables, and colums each side. The buggy barely fit. Then there was no room for the highchair or the buggy.Noone was bothered.Sorry but won't be returning.

Anthonia attended to my family and friends last Monday 4th December 2023 to celebrate my 65th birthday. The food was on point, service was superb and the atmosphere was friendly and conducive. Pleasant setting on the coast with views out to sea. Staff were fine and patient with the children who loved the play park outside. The atmosphere was calm. Food was standard Toby Carvery with tasty beef and lamb and the usual veg. There were 5 meats to choose from. Only negatives were an ice machine that was out of order and no standard Pepsi at the machines available to customers. Both were available at the bar. A regular said that they 'never' have the Pepsi. I have no idea why.

Beautiful big restaurant by the sea side. With a great view over the beach and the sea. Staff is friendly when you enter. Since this was out first time we had some questions about the menu and the staff reacted a bit annoyed, which didn't help our experience. Buy we had a bite to eat. Nothing really special. But good food.Overall good experience.

great service, wonderful staff, pity about the state of the restaurant. It is dire need of an update. Blinds all broken unable to be used. Drapes, well! how on earth they remain hanging is a mystery. Surely your hard working staff deserve a better working enviroment.

Some time ago we stopped using the carvery in Clacton, however, friends told us it had significantly improved. We've now been twice in the last month, and they were very right, the food came out hot, it tasted fresh, and we really enjoyed it. Excellent friendly staff

The waitress was very abrupt, she took our order for drinks then walked off. We had to wait for her to come back around to say that we would like to have the carvery. she never asked if everything was ok or if we wanted anything else until we had finished, she took our plates, said want anything else, we said no thank you served everyone else. Once we had finished our drinks she then went 'bill' and got the card reader. We go to the carvery often through the month,but we found this service to be very rude and have been put off going back.Parking: Plenty of spaces behind the restaurant

Visit was terrible service was poor and manager extremely rude table was booked but was sat half hour late and was told we could not split the bill even though we were two families.I asked for a bown and spoon for my daughter to try mac and cheese away from her meal as she has sensory issues and food can't touch and was told id need pay extra . ..My desert was sessional sponge it turned up as a cup cake with a spoonful of jam on top.I was extremely shocked at experience here we were on holiday and was out for a family meal for our last e evening here.I'll never return to this place it was awful ?
