We decided to choose Coggeshall Spice as it is close to grandparents and we always have great food there. We were not disappointed with the food it was yummy as usual. Our waiter was a little too forceful with telling us what we would want to eat instead of letting us make our own choice of what we wanted. Other than that we all enjoyed each other's company with wonderful curry dishes.

Best curry I have ever had outside the Midlands in a standard curry house. Staff were polite, food was well excellent- the Jalferazi had real taste and kick and an excellent, beautifully cooked naan. Well done!

Thought I would re try after a nasty experience with the lockdown meal incentive and got a takeaway! So so so bland, curry’s we ordered tasted nothing like what we normally order, onion bhajis greasy as hell only thing on point was the rice also stone cold after a 5 min walk home, just left on the side and not in a hot cabinet. Safe to say Il stick to my decision and order elsewhere and wait for delivery. Server was lovely though

We were in Essex overnight and wanted to eat out and would really recommend the Coggeshall Spice Indian Restaurant. Service was really good and the food fantastic. We could not fault anything about the food, we really enjoyed our experience and would eat there again if down that way

Food ok .. nothing special. Nice soft chicken.Service average ... Drinks ordered but didn't arrive so had to re-order.Very cramped seating and very noisy ... even the staff couldn't hear what we were ordering as it was so loud in the restaurant. Won't bother going back.

Have ordered from them several times before and has always been nice. Until today. They missed the rice out of the order which id collected. It was raining, so didn't want to go back for rice and when I called they didn't want to deliver it. I agreed to collect a free one next time. I then started eating the naan bread and found two pieces of cling film cooked into it. This is really not acceptable. Food standards should really be involved with this. I won't be ordering again. Shame, but don't like eating plastic even if it is nicely spiced.

Amazing food and very polite staff. We booked a table on Saturday evening and I'm glad we did, as it was busy. However it did not affect the quality of service.
I ordered the foods from them through JustEat delivery.1x pilau rice for my partner & 1x coconut rice for me… I received two of coconut rice, my partner couldn’t eat coconut, so I’ve called them through NGT app (I am deaf, cant hear over the phone) when they realise I’m deaf and use the app to speak to them, they were like “oh.. can you call us later as we’re very busy” they didn’t let me said anything at all, soI interrupt quickly explaining that they gave me the wrong rice, they apologised and said will send me the right one in 10/15 mins… still nothing from the driver. I called back, they hung up. Will never order from them again.

Nice meal for 11 people to celebrate a friend's birthday. Unfortunately the restaurant tried to squeeze in a second booking after us (giving us barely 2 hours from 6.30pm), without telling the host. They were ushering us out by 8.30pm as the second booking had arrived. They did not offer dessert or coffee and wanted us to leave.Given the size of the booking and the time it takes to serve a table of that size, it felt a bit mean / tight. They should have been clear or not tried to squeeze more in, especially given the size of our party and the amount spent.

Hadn't been to this restaurant for years, thought I should try again.. Great food, 4 course meal for £15. Needs a little updating inside but no complaints. Food was tasty.Parking: Plenty of parking on the main road.. bonus a pub opposite restaurant.

They forgot to give us the rice on our delivery - but gave Bombay Aloo instead - thankfully we had some microwave rice in the cupboard as a backup, but other than that the food was excellent, really tasty!

Ordered a meal for 3 people over the phone and when I went to collect it, good job I checked it first. They had missed one of the main courses off. They blamed the noise from the restaurant. Quickly prepared the missing meal and offered a free drink whilst I waited.I had been putting off ordering from here because of mixed online reviews. The service was very friendly and good, shame I cant say the same about the food. Of the 3 dishes we ordered, one said it was tasty. One was neutral and the 3rd hardly touched the meal because the amount of water that was coming out of the sauce. So overall not a very good experience.
