Had the most incredible birthday dinner here. We were going to a comedy show at the theatre so booked an early dinner and had the place to ourselves for the first hour or so!The service was incredible, Gareth looked after us impeccably and made sure we had everything we needed.The food was really first class, such an array of flavours was really a treat.Highly recommend and will absolutely be back!

Went for breakfast and was pretty quiet for around 10:00am. We each had a coffee and Eggs Royal and eggs florentine. Coffee was nice and strong the waiter quick to take our order. Food didn't take too long to arrive either and I was quite surprised by the size of the portions as I ordered a extra sausage just encase. Needless to say the food was very tasty and will definitely return to try some dinner as I heard the pasta dishes are supposed to be really nice.

Went with 6 friends for our festive afternoon/night out together. We travelled from Ipswich by train and started off here for bottomless brunch, and what a great time we had, the staff couldn’t do enough for you even though it was busy. The food was great and the cocktails and Prosecco free flowing, you were never without a drink. We will definitely be returning with more of us hopefully as it was well worth the money.

My daughter has to avoid a number of food ingredients, but their menu is very informative so she was able to make a choice from a number of possibilities. We had meat and fish dishes, there is a wide choice, and all prepared by Tom the owner/Chef. He takes great pride in serving the finest food, and ensuring his customers enjoy their visit. There is a good range of Wines, Spirits and Cocktails to accompany your food and his prices are very reasonable. We will definitely be returning again soon.Dietary restrictions: My daughter needs to choose from Dairy and Gluten free, there was a good choice for her.

We came here tonight as a last minute decision and what a find. If your looking for a decent traditional pub meal you've come to the right place. The food was all homemade nothing pre frozen the house red wine was delicious local ales and home cooked food at an Incredibly reasonable price and the service. Well the service was amazing the lady was running the bar and serving and had a guy (Ben I think his name was) on hand running around making sure everyone was comfortable and well fed and watered it was packed. Quiz night. And we booked late and last minute and they both served us smiling! Hard to do in the hospitality industry when your packed to the rafters. I genuinely can't wait to come back. And am relieved finally that somewhere on Mersea has a good menu a specials board and everything cooked to order ! Thank you for making a mid week treat something really special. Ps try the lamb shank you will not be disappointed !!!

Carley, our server, was especially friendly, helpful and efficient. There was a good choice of salad and meals to choose from in general. Our food was tasty although my gammon was a little overcooked. My hubby had the scampi which he enjoyed. We both just had the bottomless soda option. We did not have dessert as we were too full, nor did we have tea/coffee. Overall we had a great visit.

This is a really quaint location with an "old pub" feel. The exposed beams and warming fire give a real cosy feel and the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. The staff were very welcoming and chatty and very accommodating. There are two menus for food, both with great options and reasonable prices. There was a good lunch menu with some classic pub favourites, but also a full Thai menu. We went for the pub style food which had generous portions and tasted great. Some nearby tables were enjoying the Thai menu which looked and smelt great, with comments on how much food there was for the price. I will definitely be coming back here to try some more of the food and enjoy a drink in the sunshine

First and only chippy that we’ve tried since moving to Colchester and our first experience was a pleasant one. Food was well cooked, hot and tasted great. Our second meal wasn’t as great. The fish in particular was rather oily and cold by the time we got it home, yet we live five minutes away. Chips were bland. I’d give ‘em a third go but it could be the last if not enjoyed as the meal isn’t as cheap as it used to be.Parking: Literally right outside on a bit of land in front of the place and it’s pot luck if you managed to get a spot. You can park on the street it sits on, but again that’s dependant on traffic.

I used this Chip Shop weekly on a Thursday for a big work order. Billy on the till is fantastic. He is able to take the massive order and has never gotten it wrong so far ? The shop makes sure to prep for the lunch order we put in to make it quicker for us and the food is always pukka quality. Nindy's is an amazing fish and chip shop, and their sandwich/baguette bar is incredible also. It's definitely worth a visit if you're close by and fancy a bite to eat.

What a gem of a pub/restaurant called in on the off chance we could get dinner, we were greeted by staff and other pub customers with a friendly hello and smile..we asked about meals and was shown the meals board, we chose our meals and drinks. So reasonably priced for it all and nothing was to much trouble, we would highly recommend to everyone of this family friendly place ,5* all round service, food and hospitality... We will be back soon for sure.

Hidden gem of a pub, well worth a visit. Homemade/handmade burgers and sliders with a great selection of sides.All the usual drinks on offer with a regular selection of guest ales. Beer is well kept and reasonably priced.Very community minded with regular events and the pub makes space available for local groups before usual opening hours if needed.Absolutely drop in if you live locally, this pub deserves our support.

Went here recently as a group of 8 for Mother's day and the mezze spreads were amazing (along with the Baklava?). a long overdue return visit to this wonderful little restaurant in my old home town. The food and atmosphere were as good as ever - always busy no matter what night of the week you visit and booking is essential. The fillet steaks, peppercorn sauce and large cut fries were superb whilst the floater coffees rounded the evening off beautifully. Finally, a special mention to the delightfully enthusiastic and professional young lady who went above and beyond in looking after us - you are a real credit to the restaurant.
