I'm so disappointed to write this review. We have been going there about once a month for several years but not sure what happened today. The service was slow, the food was luke warm, we had to get our own cutlery and had to chase up our order several times. Our meals didn't arrive together and one of our group asked where their meal was....it arrived about 5-10 minutes later than the others - barely hot. We're sorry this lovely little cafe has deteriorated. What a shame they have lost our custom.

Top quality food, delicious and affordable. The daily special was heavenly. Nice views to the castle. Friendly staff. Spotless clean. A must visit.

Went in there today whilst visiting Colchester with my family ordered 3 coffees and 2 sandwiches and gluten free toast, what can I say. Awesome best tuna sandwich EVER the coffees were superb and the staff super friendly .Highly recommended..well done guys

I’ve eaten here for a long time, and I’ve enjoyed the food and the staff, However, today the lady behind the counter was incredibly rude and condescending towards me. Very arrogant. Definitely got above themselves avoid
Have been here twice, not a great breakfast, why do you microwave the beans? and you need to reduce the oil on the eggs! Go to timbers (very close to you) order a full English and learn from them, then you’ll increase your business. I’d only order a coffee from here in the future.

Took grandson, 6yr old, he’s hard to feed! Staff lovely, food great, he ate everything. He recognised the kindness in the lady manger/ owner and wanted to personally thank her. He’d also lost his badge and we went back to find it, no luck but they offered to phone me if the found it when the cleaned up at the end. When we found it in the car went we went home. He was still talking about the lovely lady.?
