Very dissatisfying, i have been to the Chelmsford preto previously and it was amazing so I decided to take my 2 friends to show them how good it was at Colchester as the Chelmsford one had closed down.Tables were very much squashed togetherSalad bar was dry and selection was terribleMeat was barley brought out and when it was the wasn’t enough to feed our table of 3None of the good meat advertised was brought outWhen asked how our meal was at the end we told the miserable waitress we was dissatisfied and she did not apologise rather she argued that the salad was fresh and nothing wrong with it and had nothing to say about the poor meat offeredMeat was fatty so much so it got stuck in my throat and I was in a&e until 8am the following morning I’ve only just got home from a terrible night from this and now writing this review,If you think I’m exaggerating walk in the premises and just take a look at the salad bar yourselfThis whole experience was so bad we told them at the till we was not willing to pay for any of the food atall after she was rude to us.I have only ever done this once before in my whole life and I eat out a lot with friends.

Ahh what an experience from the one of the best steaks I've ever eaten too an amazing team helping me to gain my future wife ?Amazing service, the chief was so polite and served amazing food!The staff stopped at nothing to help & really made it one of the most delicious and memorable meals for myself and my partner ? 10/10 recommend

Great place for a leisurely lunch, good choice of salads, pasta, rice and breads. But the star is the bbq meats, all cooked to perfection and arriving at your table for your enjoyment. So difficult to pick a standout but the beef ribs were unbelievable.Cannot fault the friendly staff and warm welcome

It was our first time here for my husbands birthday. We had booked a table and in special comments put it was his birthday, you can also upload a photo so they can greet you on arrival, this wasn't acknowledged in anyway, so don't bother with this.That aside, the service itself was great, so we didn't mind paying the service charge put on our bill. The food was served hot and plentiful. We loved the cold buffet variety, I am fussy and found lots to eat. The fresh lemonade was soo refreshing and now a favourite all round. We will be back to enjoy again!

It was our 24th wedding anniversary and our first ever visit to Pretos. We was sat upstairs towards the back out the way from everyone else. Meat was lovely but didn't know we could use the downstairs buffet more than once. Things were not explained to us and after paying we were given the receipt that has a 12.5% service charge on it.Very disappointed as I feel it could of been so much better if everything had of been explained to us.
A varied amount of food and the meats served were amazing.It was all cooked perfectly.I’d absolutely recommend Preto in Colchester!!!

Throughly enjoyed our meal here today - the all you can eat meat was delicious & the buffet had plenty of vibrant & colourful options. I also had the Rio bottle Beer which was incredible, hopefully I can find it in the shops!The staff were all very welcoming, the chap who served the meats was very polite and professional. Fiona was also very friendly & provided amazing hospitality.10/10 - we will be back!
