Went to a quiz night. So much fun. The landlords were very welcoming. It's a proper local pub. Can't wait to find an excuse to go back. Didn't eat.

Staff polite, premises clean. Choice of beers good. Small but varied menu, with specials board.Kid-friendliness: Kids allowed up to 7pm. No children in the bar area. Separate areas inside and outside.Wheelchair accessibility: No automatic doors but level access.

Without a doubt the best pub meal I have had in the past 5 years. Roast Brisket was amazing. I'm from Manchester and have been working here for 2 days. Traditional home cooked food 10 out of 10.

On the off chance today being in Colchester with our grandson we went for a walk and stumbled across this lovely little pub ,, we hoped their was a garden but upstairs led to a roof garden so nice ,, the kitchen had literally just closed but the chef was so kind enough to say that she would do us something to eat ,, we will definitely be going back as the menu has alot of delicious choices and very reasonably priced ,, the staff were friendly and great with our grandson,, thankyou guys

What an absolute gem of a pub. Rod the landlord is a fantastic host and all of his bar staff are super friendly and helpful. But the hidden secret to this pub is the fantastic food that comes out of the kitchen, reasonably priced and excellent quality. Thanks so much guys. The solar boys ?
