Excellent own brewed beers and lagers. We went next door to The Other Monkey - Great little place. Didn't have any food, but menu was really clearly marked with allergens etc -will definitely return to sample to food!

My favorite bar in colchester, great home brewed pints, fantastic cocktails, even if they aren't advertising what u want u can always ask and they'll usually know how to make it. Foods fab as well, bit expensive but worth it if u want a nice meal. Love the atmosphere in all the rooms, great for a night out or date also kid friendly I think

nice place for a fast dinner. huge collection of nice beers. The food is good. Staff was not excellent..just okay, but that will do.

A vibrant busy pub that has a wide range of beers. We didn't have any food but what I saw looked very good. Seating outside. Can be quite noisy.

I love this local spot for music and drink but when it comes to the food I’m repeatedly disappointed. The new menu ideas always look great and I’m drawn back to ordering but the cold and bland taste just can’t hold up to local fresh competition. As other reviews state, the chips are always cold. Perhaps the heat lamps aren’t hot enough? Staff can’t get to the food quick enough? The stairs slowing them down? Whatever it is, needs to be addressed.

Great evening with friends. Table was in a great location on first floor on a higher tier. Two waitresses serving were lovely and so helpful. Food was excellent !

Few beers after dinner elsewhere. We have eaten here before and it was lovely, hence the 4 start review.Lots of beer and ale options and the micro brewery is interesting. We sat in the speakeasy/snug/gin bar

It's been a long time to rediscover the taste of cider, its semi-hard sweet taste and the apple taste that lingers on the palate are amazing.

Reasonable prices and a nice atmosphere. Wasn't overly busy when we visited either. Only downside is they don't keep a variety of drinks, but there's at least one thing for everyone.

We've been customers of Three Wise Monkeys since they first opened, but the last few visits have been quite disappointing. The food comes out cold, especially the fries, which feels like they have been cooked earlier and reheated (but even then, only half reheated) Generally, it's not what it once was, the food used to be really good. I look forward to it being how it used to be again, but don't really want to risk another visit to find out if they've improved Still a good place for beers though if not food.

Spacious, cosy sofas and lots of natural. Thank heavens pubs have reinvented themselves over recent years. The food looked delicious.

I am a regular user of this establishment, it has friendly staff, excellent food, drink and the atmosphere changes through the day as it effortlessly caters for the ever changing face and needs of its customers. Combine all this with actively promoting live must, comedy etc through the week, with a separate restaurant upstairs away from the bar, you have a winning combination that has me coming back & recommending to my customers again and again.

We held a corporate event at this venue and were very impressed with the room we booked, staff and drinks. Thank you to Mac and Joe!

Went to see the Kubricks on the top floor. Great venue for live music, great sound and atmosphere. Kuricks great as always.

This pub has everything: friendly, helpful staff, great ales, (including the ones they brew themselves, served straight from the barrel,) decent pub food, and a music venue on the top floor. We had a tasty and reasonably priced meal in the second floor restaurant, and then went upstairs to see three bands perform, including the fantastic Ska band, The Kubriks. Would definitely recommend The Three Wise Monkeys for all of the above.
