Had Sunday lunch in the Granary restaurant. Excellent service , food was great, reasonably priced. Clean unrushed although quite busy.

Seems a Nice place might book this summer

The Fab Sixties

Our band the Fab Sixties have performed at the Wheatsheaf Waldergrave's many times over the years. We have had some incredible nights with Glen, the ents team and wonderful guests. We would highly recommend this park to anyone looking for a break on a clean well kept site and friendly

The sports bar was quite nice very busy

Nice site, friendly staff. It says dog friendly but it's not. If you want to eat or drink at the restaurant you have to sit outside. They have four lakes but not allowed to walk round with no explanation. WiFi and mobile data none existent.

Great location - beach is nearby, lots of walks with the dog. Nice bar and restaurant although you have to sit outside with the dog but at least there is a covered and heated area. Shop onsite. Showers were warm and clean, as were the toilets. Internet is non- existent in the caravan but works fine near the entertainment. All staff except the park warden were friendly and welcoming. Fishing lakes closed and although we didn't want to fish, we couldn't even walk around them, which was a shame. Overall a good experience.

We have just got home after 6 nights on the touring site in our 36ft American RV and looking at other reviews I must say that I don’t wholly agree, as from the moment I made the booking I found the staff very helpful and the same from when we arrived. The touring pitch is a fair distance from the bar and restaurant and that was a bit awkward for my wife as she’s getting over a chest infection and found it hard to walk too far, but on the occasion we did go up to the bar, we found it clean and very nice. The showers could maybe do with a little modernisation and maybe the ability to set the temperature, but I found them perfectly usable whenever you went into the toilets they were always clean and the staff always seem to be cleaning something on the site in general the site was really nice, we arrived out of the school holidays on the Monday and it was quite peaceful until Friday but then we expected it to get busy. We had our 2 year old German Shepherd with us who is not too keen on other dogs and got quite noisy. So we had to be cautious when taking him out for a walk. Although there are signs saying dogs must be kept on a lead some people didn’t bother and let them run free we did mention it and they sent a member of staff round to have a word but as new people arrived you couldn’t expect them to keep coming round and telling people. But on the hole we had a great time definitely be going back in the future highly recommended if you do have a large motorhome as they have some large pitches which are suitable the only thing that let it down for me was a couple of days before we arrived they had to close the fishing lakes due to a possible disease in the water as they found a few dead fish but that was out of their control.

I'm sure there are many wonderful things that I could say about Waldegraves, the pool, the restaurant or the bar - which I'm sure were all lovely. Unfortunately we didn't use any of those. We were there on a touring pitch in our own caravan so the facilities we used were the pitch itself and the showers/toilets. The pitch was scruffy - the hedges were unkempt. The pitch was supposed to be hardstanding but it had bits of grassy type growing all over it. So it was neither hardstanding or grass. The pitches just looked un-cared for. Although the staff clearly "cleaned" the toilets several times a day, there were webs everywhere and the basically didn't seem to clean where they didn't think nobody would notice. Then there were the showers. Tired, roof windows covered in cobwebs. Those awful push button showers with no way to adjust the temperature. During our say the temperature during the day was 30 degrees - the showers were about 50 degrees - far to hot to be comfortable. And there was the stench! I'm blessed with a poor sense of smell and a strong stomach but the odour from the drain gulley was horrendous. I mentioned it to staff who said "Yes we know" We normally stay at CAMC sites but this is the second time this year we've tried a site like this which is clearly more geared towards the owners of statics not the touring caravanners - it's a shame as this good have been a really great experience except for the lack of attention to detail

Never again cleanliness poor, wifi is not free as they state, only allowed 50 mins in the pool every other day after booking at 8 in the morning . Noisy neighbours for several nights complained but nothing done and were talking 2 am. We had a drone flying around for a couple of days. Worse camping trip ever.

We take our own tourer so cannot comment on accommodation. We cook our own food and eat out when we are away. The pool was great for the kids and my partner to go to every day. The shop could do with holding more Stock sometimes but is still good and has a bakery which is nice. The entertainment team are friendly and great for the kids our little one loved it. The arcade was a disappointment compared to a couple of years ago, not as many good machines for the children, a lot of fruit machines now which stood there with no one on them whenever I went in. The courtyard takeaway van is a great idea and popular but only complaint was the younger guy working in their was running his hand through his hair and round the stubble on his face, taking cash from people and then occasionally touching food. Personal hygiene issue there that needs addressing please.Pitch sizes are normally very good although this time we were given a smaller pitch due to late booking but was still fine.Toilets were clean. We have been quite a few times and will definitely come back in the future.Would 100% recommend to families

I stayed here for 4 nights camping. The place is very big. My pitch was good, nice hedges for privacy. Plus my own water tap and ehu.Washrooms were fine. Restaurant was cheap and waitresses were great and served us well. I think they did very well considering how busy it was..There was wrestling on the Saturday which was entertaining and my family seemed to enjoy .There were fishing lakes. I don't fish but others in our group had a great time at the lake and caught fish. The beach was nice and quiet..I would recommend this place and hopefully I will be back.

Wow…. What an amazing experience took my wife and kids camping for the first time and we had a brilliant experience staff were really polite helpful and approachable the entertainment for the kids was really good. Facilities for bathrooms and washing was outstanding and very clean everyday and stocked up with everything you needed. We have enjoyed ourselves that much at waldegraves that we have booked for October and next year for longer and has encouraged me to buy a bigger tent and make it regular especially at a great value for the money would recommend all day long. The only negative I would say is the out door food is very slow and quite a wait and small portions for the cost.

We have stayed at this campsite over the last few years quiet a few times and been very happy , However this time we was very disappointed, , I will start with the positives first , bar staff very friendly , entertainment very good . But over the last few months the cleanliness of the place has definitely gone down , it all looks like it needs a really good clean . All the amusement machines were sticky and could do with being wiped over on a regular basis, tables in bar in side and out needed a regular clean , and the toilets were absolutely disgusting overflowing with god knows what all over the floors bins overflowing an absolute health hazard . It’s not the cheapest of sites and if you know you are at full capacity then employ more staff , when that busy all toilets should be cleaned every 30 mins

as a family of 4 we can't fault this place. my boys are 9 and 7 and we hardly seen them as they spent most of their time playing outside on the park and in the football cage. The food is gorgeous whether it be from the granary or the courtyard. entertainment was good. our favourite was the George Michael tribute. you do need to get there early as it gets busy so struggle to get a table. Keely and Emily were great with the kids. although Emily is new she has great potential. in previous years we have had Sam and she was brilliant. she was there 2 days this time during our stay and my boys just love her she is great and an amazing entertainer! My boys joined in with the kids clubs this time around where they enjoyed doing sand art, making slime and participating in the scavenger hunts. they also got to stuff their own bear and choose an outfit. we had batman and spiderman of course! swimming pool is good although it is now wristbands and hour slots and this needs to be booked early in the morning to guarantee a good time slot. we cant wait to visit again hopefully next year! keep up the good work everyone! :)
