Brown salad, stale popadoms, chicken tikka is terrible, won’t buy from here again. All Indians in area are terrible, save your money

Arrived a little late and wasn't very hot. Very disappointed, onions not cooked just not what I expected going by reviews

I lived in India. I have had the food in the country it is from. I lived all over the globe. This is the WORST Food period I have ever had. Saag paneer...filled with sugar? I called the restaurant and informed them, they said "I ordered wrong." I'm not from the UK..if this is how you like Indian food, with a bucket of sugar...this is the place for you. If you want to eat Indian food...find another restaurant. 25 pounds for the worst food I've truly ever eaten.

Simply outstanding! Regularly use Star of India as a takeaway because everything from the food to person delivering the order is head and shoulders above and beyond any Indian restaurant I have ever eaten at - and this is the standard of their takeaway! I believe the restaurant has been temporarily closed due to covid, and am aware that the local residents are waiting with bated breath for it to re-open... I can understand why given the standard of the takeaway. My God what a find! A golden nugget by the beach in Frinton!

Never delivered food but took the money, I rang up and staff was very rude and put the phone down on me

I don’t know what’s going on in the kitchen tonight but the food is awful, the salad isn’t fresh, it’s dried out and it’s started to turn brown, the seehk kebab looks and smells horrible, I took a little bite of it and it tasted as bad as it looked and smelled, fatty and very greasy, as was the rice. The chicken tikka vindaloo and Peshawari naan was good which is why I’ve given it the two stars.

Really tasty curry all dishes we had were different and not in a generic sauce. Piping hot and quick service.

Doesn't have facility to eat in. Home Delivery service is superb and it's open to walk in and order.

Ordered a chicken vindaloo with some other food and i have to it was really tasty food. I would have given five stars but got no free poppadoms after spending almost £35. But i will order from star of India again.

NEVER EVER order from here if you are vegetarian. Just ordered a paneer tikka wrap only to find out halfway through that theyve just chucked a ton of chicken in, probably because they couldnt be bothered to make any more paneer. If you have special dietary requirements look elsewhere in the area, Ive never had any issues with other restaurants but here. Shocking waste of money and will never ever be ordering here again.

Ordered a take-away on Sat night, waited and waited , called twice only to be told it’s on its way! 90mins later it arrives! Why not just tell the truth? Curry was mediocre at best! But not worth the wait.

Just ordered a lamb madras pilau rice sag aloo dry and a plain naan. The lamb madras delivered more water on my plate than spicy sauce.i have had this problem a couple of times recently and thought it might have been mushroom rice doing this.the flavour of the lamb madras was very weak with no heat.i won't be ordering from here again.its a shame because the food seems to have gone down since it became purely a takeaway place.
