“Staying in the area for 2 nights, we tried 2 different pubs for our evening meals. First night food and service was ok but such a noisy environment we left straight after eating. Second night, Whitmore Arms. Quiet, low background music, delightful waitress Gillian and the best pub food we’ve had in a while. Ava was our other helpful waitress. We both ordered from the Specials Menu. We were offered complimentary liqueurs at the end of our meal too so no need to rush away. Wish we lived nearer but for those who do we recommend Whitmore Arms.”

“We travelled two hours to visit family in Essex, my sister booked our table of 6. Bar staff made an error and when talking to the male he said no didnt make an error. He consistently argued back resulting in me asking to see the manager. Manager Ros came over. I explained what had happened, she immediately sorted it and spoke to the bar man. She then took money off our bill and gave me a mini bottle of prosecco, wishing me a happy birthday. Ros there needs to be more mangers like yourself!! You are a wonderful woman, even taking the time to talk to us about where we live and thanking us for coming to TGI's you made our visit a great one.”

“We visited D&P 09/08 for a family drink. We sat outside and some of us ordered food. The service was fantastic, really efficient and friendly and all of the food was amazing. Later in the afternoon a bbq was put on and again was lovely and reasonably priced. All of the staff are very accommodating. It has been a long time since we have visited somewhere that genuinely welcomed children, they had a bouncy castle, a slip and slide, a dart football and giant connect fours for the kids. The staff even provided some water guns and water balloons later in the day and joined in with the children…..and all the kids amusement and activities were free. Really impressed with D&P, was a great day.”
