Fantastic village cafe. Plenty of homemade cakes and food to choose from. Jams and trinkets to buy too. A small covered courtyard allows dogs so we, my goddaughter and pooch had a lovely lunch. They serve an all-day breakfast too. Not too pricey either. The menu has a great selection offering 3 items for the Little ones. Sandwich (1/2) and 3 sides. Ideal as I hate waste and begrudge paying for a full adult's meal. ?. My goddaughter chose a ham sandwich, cucumber, crisps and cake. She ate the lot with a banana milkshake to boot. Lovely. The cake was a full portion. Unfortunately during our visit, she grazed her knee tending to pups. The staff were attentive enough to notice enquiry if she was OK and got her a plaster immediately. Thank you. Water was provided for the dog and was felt very welcome. We can't wait to go back.Kid-friendliness: The menu has a great selection offering 3 items for the Little ones. Staff managed to find us a table even when extremely busy lunch. Food was excellent, and staff very friendly.

We were recommended this Cafe by another retail shop in Gt Dunmow, and we were not disappointed. The staff were all so lovely and accommodating, and made us feel so welcome. We only had drinks and cake on this occasion, but the coffee and walnut cake was exceptional. Light and fluffy with a lovely amount of walnuts. We will certainly be returning next time we visit.

Fabulous place to have a well cooked fresh breakfast. Attentive staff, cosy and clean. We were attending a funeral near by and the breakfast set us up for the day. Would highly recommend.

Enjoyable cafe with good food, swift and friendly service. Very popular place and was quite crowded so we had to eat in a marquee in the courtyard which added to the experience! Will return next time we visit the town.

Excellent coffee and cakes. In addition to all the other 5 star reviews, I'd just add that the service is really quick and professional, and the cafe is super clean (even the loos!).

Delicious lunch here today. Even more notable was how extremely kind and calm all the staff were when another patron became seriously unwell. Go and have a meal there or coffee and cake to support this lovely business whose staff show exemplary consideration for all of their customers. Thank you to Lucy and all the other members of the team who were working at Meadow Hill today.

Omg, this place is amazing. We came for afternoon tea of course (book the day before) and it was amazing. Everything was delicious and presented well. The scones were out of this world, so fresh! Carol, the owner is just lovely and so are all the staff. It’s just a great place and I cannot recommend it highly enough. I’m very particular on my afternoon tea and this is up there with the best. There are also jams, chutneys, hampers etc you buy. If you haven’t been, you must!

We had a great meal. They were busy, but managed to find us a table in the back courtyard area. Despite being busy, service was good, friendly and efficient. We had two platters, and they were excellent, with freshly cooked food, and fresh ingredients and accompaniments. There was more than enough for the four of us. I think all the food was home cooked. We will definitely revisit when in the area.

This is a quaint and friendly little coffee shop on the high street, with a good choice of hot and cold drinks, cakes and savoury bites, as well as hot meals and breakfasts. It was well-priced and the quality was good. It is child-friendly and they allow pets in too. There is a unisex baby changing room. We enjoyed our visit with 3 babies and a toddler!Kid-friendliness: They welcome children and babiesWheelchair accessibility: There is a large step at the main front entrance
