Came here with the dog and the Mrs. Was a lovely visit. There was a couple who has a domestic at 2am outside our window but otherwise it was super pleasant and the food was what you'd expect too (which is not a bad thing). They even had oat milk for us as we're lactose intolerant. There is a BP pulse car charger nearby for overnight charging so it's super convenient. The staff are lovely as well. There's parking at the rear but it's not clear enough on Google so just keep that in mind. I think we ended up paying an extra £15 for the dog too. While the rooms were fairly expensive for what you get, it's a reflection of the entire market right now so it's fairly standard.

The Hotel is fairly nice and room 16 is posh. Depending on your needs, this place has nice places to stay and the continental-style breakfast isn't bad. The dinner food at Saracean's head are not good and all of the part agreed that they would rather eat somewhere else, but the ambience and the dance rooms upstairs worked very well for a double birthday and 80 people.

Recently stayed at this hotel with my girlfriend to visit friends in the area. Terrible experience, stay away.1. On-site bar was open till 1 pm. The music and drunk patrons could be heard all night through the windows.2. Lack of noise insulation from the windows. See point 1.3. No air-con for the room and during a hot night the fan was useless. Also couldn’t open the window because of the outside noise.4. Bed was not a true double, it was two single beds side by side - the website made not mention of this.5. Breakfast was awful. We had to ask the 16 year-old server to order our breakfast after a long wait. Requested an English Breakfast and the Smoked Salmon with gluten free bread. (My girlfriend confirmed GF bread would be available at that hotel when we stayed). After 45 mins when we noticed other peoples breakfast arriving, so we asked again how long and the server said the ticket was lost, I did remind him that my girlfriend ordered GF bread - unfortunately he said they run out so her dish would be served without. Breakfast order arrived with Smoked Salmon with no bread and another Smoked Salmon dish… I said I requested the English Breakfast. Then had an argument, he was rude and belligerent, claimed I didn’t order the English Breakfast and just walked off. Had to wait another 15 mins for the English Breakfast which arrived with a vegetarian sausage, burnt bacon, one slice of mushroom, no tomatoes and was cold. Dreadful.

We are regulars at the bar and occasionally eat here too… they have had a change of chef and a lady called Lisa cooked us the most wonderful dinner of simple fish and chips and the home made chips were the best ever!! Great service with good wholesome food too!!

Nice town, nice room, busy event venue, but dire service at breakfast I sat and waited for my cooked breakfast (poached eggs and avocado) for 40 minutes before asking how much longer it would be. It still took another fifteen minutes to arrive and then the eggs were 'hard'poached'.

The courtyard was covered in litter and the room was grubby. Filthy coffee table and cracked washbasin in the bathroom. The carpet was heavily stained. Moved to another room in the hotel which wasn’t an awful lot better. Another cracked washbasin. On the plus side, the receptionist was very helpful and the breakfast was quite good.

We popped in for lunch, there is pub seating, restaurant seating or outdoor seating. Very good friendly service. As it was a warm day we dined outside and could have stayed longer. The car parking is at the rear of the hotel and is acessable via Chequers Lane.

We stopped for a drink and a sit with the dogs in the beer garden at the back. Very comfortable, lots of space. This is a lovely hotel. The staff are courteous, friendly and professional. The tables are kept clean and clear and dog bowls of water are provided- and biscuits. We had dinner there with the outlaws and all were pleased- they were happy to accommodate substitutions for dietary requirements and the restaurant has a lovely relaxed atmosphere and decor.Worth booking to make sure of a table!

Not the best in the restaurant today (Sunday). Lack of knowledge on menu/drinks. Some vegetables undercooked and very hard. Forgot(?) one main so others had finished before it came out. Very slow service. Very loud (but not very good) live band started at 3pm which made conversation difficult. Nice place - could be so much better with some tweaks.

Great location on the high street and comfortable bed. Despite our window being close to the pub garden it wasn't loud at all.Our only gripe were the doors down the corridor, which are very loud, so there is a lot of door slamming from 5am when other guests start waking up.Overall it's a nice place to stay right on the high street. The pub itself is really nice too.

Stopped here for 1 night, thank goodness only 1 night.Check in good, location good,Room poor, not all lights working, heating not working (last week of April).Took nearly 20 minutes to find a member of staff, no one answered the phone or extensions, finely found a cook who got the lady who checked us in. She didn't know if or when the heating might come on and went looking for a heater, after about 10 minutes came with a oil filled radiator, basically useless, left on all night, made no difference.Restaurant, staff helpful, wife had the sea bass, turned up swimming in hot butter which dissolved the bubble and squeak, not nice.Strikes me as a dying hotel, shame with its location a bit of investment this could be a fantastic place.

The room was in a poor state of decoration throughout. The bathroom was very small and again very badly decorated with thick dirt behind the bath taps . Water pressure in the shower was very poor and no ventilation through the communal extract system. The hotel hadn't fill the shampoo etc and they were filled with old dirty smelly water. The bed was very poor and old with a visible dip towards the middle. Initially the breakfast look very good with lots of choice but when the cooked breakfast was served, the eggs were grey and hard so they had been cooked for a very long time and to top it all off there was a cooked bug /fly cooked into my eggs. The hotel needs quiet a lot of TLC and it is not value for money . I dare say that it was quiet nice at some point in time but that was long ago . I honestly couldn't recommend this hotel
