“Just had a lovely family lunch celebrating my birthday (21again?)Very warm welcome from the two ladies, explained the menu and took drink orders. As I was opening cards they also wished me a very happy birthday. At the end of the meal, which we all enjoyed, the two ladies appeared with a delicious slice of cheesecake complete with candle, iced ‘happy birthday’ greeting on the plate and then sang ‘happy birthday’! Completely unexpected but a lovely thoughtful gesture - well done ladies!Hadn’t been to the Castle for a while as after having new owners, standards and staff had slipped a bit, but I can honestly say after today, the staff, service and food couldn’t have been nicer. Thank you ladies for your thoughtfulness and your singing!!”
