Great for lunch, as a wedding venue it has beautiful period features, and outside space. There is grand formal dining room with unbelievably stunning huge crystal chandelier, or informal bar diving. Excellent chips, pies and food generally, their desserts not for me.

This was a Family visit whilst staying at local holiday park We dined at this restaurant after viewing the website and decided it looked nice and spacious for a party of eight which included a toddler. The service was good and food was very tasty and well cooked, not much food was left from any of our party! The decor is lovely and the seating is very well organised with plenty of room between diners . We would definitely visit again and recommend a visit just to see the ornate ceilings

Wanted to visit for a while, wasn't disappointed, pretty garden for pre lunch drinks, lovely staff, carvery for lovely & good value, meat eaters said the meat was fab, my veggie carvery was great, helped me with allergies. Will definitely visit plenty more times!
Went there in June four of us nobody said about two meals for a set price. Upon coming home I sent an email about being charged full price for two meals which were £12.OO each yet offer for the two we had was £ 16.OO for the two. No reply to my email so phoned up to be told no offers available on a. Bank Holiday pointed out this should be stated on the menu so people know up front. Was told call in and would be given a refund which my husband did. But notice two months on still nothing said on the menu. Which is underhand. Lovely place but rely on youngsters to run it who have no idea. In all my life it was the longest we have ever waited for a meal .

We had an event there yesterday for a group of CVST volunteers.
It was for afternoon tea.
The tables were set on the pretty terrace near the water fountain. The staff had thoughtfully placed sunshades along our row of tables and placed colourful vases of flowers on the tables.
We had jugs of Pimms waiting for us upon arrival.
The food was all prepared on the premises and was so fresh and delicious.
The staff catered for our every whim and were very attentive.
I highly recommend afternoon tea at this beautiful, historic venue.

Stayed for 2 nights. Hotel is a lovely building, public rooms and garden are lovely, in keeping with age of building. The bedrooms are a little tired, definitely in need of new pillows and duvet. Lack of usefully placed shelf in bathroom & shower. The service from the staff was helpful and friendly.

This is a magnificent building with a grand staircase. The interior spaces such as the bar and restaurant are very comfortable and the exterior seating area and garden excellent. The staff were very friendly. The room was a good size but had a couple of niggles. There was no easy height shelf in the bathroom and no shelf at all in the shower. The power socket for the hair dryer was under the dressing table making it both difficult to access and also leaving the power cord too short.

Called in on the off chance for a sunday dinner. Made very welcome and had the carvery. Excellent meal with plenty of gorgeous beef and fine selection of vegetables. Great surroundings, very helpful and genuine pleasant staff and a great meal at a truly excellent price.
