Lovely dining area. Food was absolutely fantastic. Steaks were perfect. Will definitely come back!

Wanted to go somewhere nice for Mothers Day this year at it was my daughters first one so we booked a table at The Bull. We were asked to pre order from the set menu which we did days in advance. We sat down at 3.30pm and were offered drinks straight away. Starters didn’t arrive for just over an hour. Even though we pre ordered we still had to wait a ridiculously long time for food. During this time we also had to try and flag someone down to order more drinks. After waiting over an hour for starters we then waited another hour for the mains, and when they did bring them out they were wrong, or they were trying to give us another tables order. Mentioned all this to the manager and she didn’t care. Then mentioned our dissatisfaction to the owner who didn’t care either. I am fully aware Mother’s Day is one of the busiest days of the year for restaurants but if they can’t cope with it then they shouldn’t book so many tables. Pre ordering the food should have made things quicker too. We were in there for over 3 hours. Would not recommend

Lovely juicy food , friendly helpful staff . UPDATE . BOOKED A TABLE FOR TEN AGAIN FOR ANOTHER FAMILY GET TOGHER . ON THIS OCCASION IT WAS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT . ONLY US HERE AND ONE OTHER TABLE OF WHO CAME IN 10 MINUTES AFTER US . WE WAITED OVER 30 MINUTES FOR OUR STARTERS . THEN ANOTHER 40 MINUTES FOR THE FIRST COUPLE OF MEALS TO ARRIVE . TEN MINUTES LATER ANOTHER 3 MEALS ARRIVED ONE OF WHICH WAS A COMPLETELY WRONG ORDER . TEN MORE MINUTES FOR TWO MEALS. THEN ANOTHER TEN MINUTES FOR THE CORRECT ORDER OF STEAK ( £28 ) MEAL TO ARRIVE . THIS WAS PROMPTLY SENT BACK . THE STEAK WAS DISGUSTING AND TASTED FOUL . A REPLACEMENT WAS REFUSED by my son in lW AS TWO MORE MEALS WERE STILL OUTSTANDING . THESE ARRIVED WHEN MOST OF US WERE FINISHED EATING . THE TABLE OF FOUR CANCELLED THEIR MEALS BECAUSE THEY HAD BEEN WAITING 40 MINUTES AND LEFT . THE WAITRESS WERE DOING THEIR JOB WELL . THE CHEF SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF HIS PERFORMANCE . WOULD I GO AGAIN . DEFINITELY NOT OTHER MEALS HAD PROBLEMS INCLUDING A MEAT PIE THAT LOOKED LOVELY BUT CONTAIN FOR CUBES OF MEAT THEN FILLED WITH GRAVY . I CAN ONLY GUESS THE CHEF WAS NOT ABLE TO GET TO WORK AND WAS REPLACED BY COOKS WHO HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF WORKING IN A. RESTAURANT . Terrible experience

Wouldn’t recommend, booked for a special 1st mothers day meal & it was totally shocking service, especially as you pre order took an hour for starter then another hour for mains. We raised this with the management and they couldn’t care less.Took us well over 3 hours to finish the two meals & had to chase the staff for drinks as not once did they come over for any drinks orders.Sadly it was a disappointment.

Visited for Sunday lunch on recommendation from my brother who had visited a while ago. I think it has changed hands since.Very disappointed. 3 or 4 lagers on offer, only 1 beer (Neck Oil which is always too cold), not even any bottled beer, this is England NOT Europe. The meal was a major fail. Vegetables (served separate) were tepid, lamb was dry and tepid, beef was tepid and overdone. When this was pointed out hot gravy was offered.Serving staff were young but friendly. The lady in charge was not forthcoming when it was pointed out that the disabled toilet was difficult to get into as there was no outside handle. Her response was "If she's disabled she has been given a Radar key and can use that to pull the door open". Radar keys are not issued, you apply for them and it's difficult when you have a crutch or 2. Resorting to the Ladies facility her crutch slipped on the wet floor and she jarred herself on something. One saving factor was that the 'discretionary' 12.5% service charge was not levied. They're lucky we paid anything.Don't go there.

Overpriced Christmas Lunch. Thinking it was good quality I booked Christmas day lunch for myself and my daughter. What a disappointment. I was unaware that it had been taken over by new proprietors. The starters were good but the main course was supposed to be turkey and all the trimmings. However there were no trimmings the carrots were supposed to be glazed but we're just plain boiled. There were no parsnips or pigs in blankets nor was there any stuffing so I don't know what they meant by trimmings! The Brussels sprouts were bitter and had obviously been kept warm for a while. Desert was ok but nothing special and we were supposed to have petit fors with our tea/coffee but they didn't appear. The tea appeared with the milk already added and was insipid looking and very weak, surely they could supply milk in a jug so we could decide on the quantity we prefer.I have had many better Sunday lunches at other pubs and feel most aggrieved at paying £100 a head for a very mediocre meal. Not somewhere I would recommend.I also visited the toilets and was appalled to find the floor was flooded, there was no toilet paper and no soap. My daughter visited the ladies and it was exactly the same. Just not acceptable in this day and age

It always had a good reputation so I decided to take my daughter for Christmas day. However I did not know it had recently changed hands. I selected the turkey dinner with all the trimmings & glazed carrots. When it arrived there were no parsnips, pigs in blankets or stuffing. The carrots were just plain boiled so I'm not sure what the 'trimmings' were. We had Brussels sprouts but they had obviously been kept warm for a while as shown by the colour and they were very bitter. The starters and dessert were ok but nothing special. I also had reason to use the toilets. The floor was flooded, there was no toilet paper and no soap. My daughter tried the ladies and that was the same. The service was not what you'd call attentive. When I questioned the bill they refused to compromise which I thought was rather short sighted as it was £100 a head and because of their attitude it will certainly not be somewhere I will visit again

Had lunch in the bar, great bar menu at a reasonable price.French onion soup was fantastic and the sandwich was fresh, tasty and came with a lovely side salad. Highly recommend popping in for a drink or something to eat.

We went to this restaurant on recommendation and good reviews but I am sorry to say it did not live up to expectations. We ordered several different meals, two of us choosing the roast Turkey Christmas dinner. The Potatoes were undercooked cold and hard as was the carrots and Brussels sprouts. To be honest it tasted like they had been cooked the day before and reheated. There was no stuffing, pig in blanket or Yorkshire which you would expect with a roast. The waiter did not ask if our meals were ok or we would have said something, he was no where to be seen for the whole of the meal as there was only us and one other couple but when he did appear we told him we were not happy and he said that they would give us a reduction on our bill. When the bill arrived it had a £5 discount which I thought was an insult. When I got home I sent a email to the restaurant complaining and after 4 days I received a reply saying out of 80 served that day we were the only ones to complain. ( the other people were in a function with live music) They did offer 20% discount on our next visit but I can assure you we won’t be giving them anymore of our money to eat rubbish food.

Last week I attended the Bull and Willow Room for our ‘works’ Christmas do and ABBA tribute duo. We did have a few doubts as we were the only table (9 of us) and lots of confusing conversations with various management/staff. The evening started off with a glass of sparkling wine and from then on in we had a fabulous time. The meal was hot and tasty, the staff were very polite and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. ABBA Magic were fantastic and we all danced and sang through the whole performance. What a great night, Thank you to all involved.

Last night I attended the Abba tribute night at the Bull & willow room for a 3 course festive dinner. It was unusually quiet there as I have been many times before to these events and it’s been packed. I was a bit concerned but I needn’t have been because it was fabulous from start to finish. The 3 courses arrived all hot and very tasty. The two members of staff working were very pleasant and helpful. Once our meal was over we were entertained for a good hour and a half by Abba Magic and they were absolutely brilliant. Our party had a great evening and will definitely be back.

Went last night to see ABBA magic tribute act for our works Christmas function. We were the only table there and there was 9 of us, we were dredding the evening. We never should have worried, some of the food wasn't to my taste but that's more personal reference it came out all together and hot that's the main thing. However, the evening was made by the tribute act and the two staff who waited on us, they were friendly, polite and professional. We would all definitely go back again next year for our Christmas Do.
